Players just voted down the owners "best and final offer." Good news for TheGlov...Pirates won't be mathematically eliminated by May 1! Nobody will be playing...Sucks.
I thought that billionaires and millionaires couldn't be that stupid and greedy to screw this up, but boy was I wrong.Players just voted down the owners "best and final offer." Good news for TheGlov...Pirates won't be mathematically eliminated by May 1! Nobody will be playing...Sucks.
Was planning on at least 3 games in Fenway this summer. Was so hoping for a 162 game season. Sucks...all that money and can't get a deal done. What was the real reason? Anyone know?I thought that billionaires and millionaires couldn't be that stupid and greedy to screw this up, but boy was I wrong.
Feel sorry for all the people who work the games and need the $$$$.Would they get the message if the stadia were empty upon their return or would they just shrug and count the tv money?
Just wondering since so few sports actually care about fans anymore.
Beyond ridiculous. Meet in the middle and be done with it.Feel sorry for all the people who work the games and need the $$$$.
A lot of people won’t notice. I couldn’t tell you if I watched five straight innings of any game last year. Some of us won't even notice
Many will find better jobs.A lot of people won’t notice. I couldn’t tell you if I watched five straight innings of any game last year.
What pisses me off is that this screws over a lot of little guys. We’re coming out of a pandemic and people are trying to get ahead, trying to make a living. In the best of times they wake up worrying about the mortgage or the bad clutch on their car; never an carefree day. Now these guys are screwing them over? How are they going to support their families? It’s wrong.

I don't believe I've watched a whole baseball game since my two boys gave it up in high school. It's a kids game that is best played by 11 and 12 year olds, and watched by their parents and grandparents. But as the MLB premidona players have gone on strike, raised their salaries to absurd levels, and seem to be always at odds with the mostly billionaire owners, it has become so easy to ignore. That's the bright spot!!A lot of people won’t notice. I couldn’t tell you if I watched five straight innings of any game last year.

Best and final offer until the next best and final offer and then the one they eventually agree on which will likely be better than the best and final offer.Players just voted down the owners "best and final offer." this is being driven by all the shitburger towns like Pittsburgh
As opposed to those benevolent saintly owners and players in the other pro sports.I don't believe I've watched a whole baseball game since my two boys gave it up in high school. Hope they cancel the season and then the league.
Except this was explicitly mentioned by folks involved in/with sources within the negotiations. The small-market (or acting like small-market) clubs that don't draw fans actually want early season games cancelled because they cost them money - they don't draw enough at the gate to make up for the salaries they have to pay out.Two stupid comments from you equals no more comments from you.
Maybe his issue was you calling Pittsburgh a shitburger town.Except this was explicitly mentioned by folks involved in/with sources within the negotiations. So, apparently, reality is stupid to you. That's a you issue, not a me issue.
Both players and owners agreed that beer and hot dog vendors should take a pay cut to help fund club profits and player salaries. What was the real reason? Anyone know?
Say hi for me.I'll have to ask my pal Ryan Zimmerman about this the next time I see him....noting this doesn't really affect him now.
Say hi for me.

Hoping this happens for you.yep sucks in many ways for many people --holding out hope to make good on my graduation gift to my boys one from PSU and the other from high school A trip to LA for the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game
But without baseball to think about, you will literally be right back.No baseball means more PornHub time. So I am told.
The people of Pittsburgh should do to Nutting what the Italians did to Mussolini.Passan and Rogers both have said that the Pirates were by far the most referred to team when it comes to a horrible franchise that are a big reason why the luxury tax needs significant improvement or abolished altogether because they will NEVER spend. Nutting literally pockets the money whereas legitimate franchises in similar situations like the Cards, Brewers and A's spend the money in shrewd ways intended to equal the playing field. I feel for Pirates fans because I do know many very loyal ones but that franchise is basically run by a Pirate. They need to be forced to sell or contracted. Them having a place at the table taints the negotion table.
