Anybody with eyes has been able to see the last well, way too long we haven't been able to generate a pass rush. If we did it was because we sent the house or dialed up a risky exotic blitz of some kind. The Gamecocks really putting pressure on a quarterback rushing only three or four was almost a comedy. The way we lost that Florida game last year was gutting and while that was a glaring example the same sort of problem has lost us a bunch of games.

Now I'm sure we're going to play a team with an offensive line soon that will temper my enthusiasm some but I like what I'm seeing. It's been a while since we've had a highly touted recruit come in and really deliver from the moment he hit the field. Obviously the comparison is to Clowney. Dylan Stewart has broken that streak. The kid is special. Of course it's measurables are perfect for the position but you can have those and still suck! šŸ˜‚ This guy has the effort to go with it. I haven't watched that much of his high school film for some reason and I didn't really delve into his personality other than just the hope that he would stick with us. If he stays healthy he's going to deliver on the promise of his rating.

Kennard is doing his part on the other end too. Thing about it is this ability makes the whole team better... The interior line can't be doubled(Big Conway Tonka wrecking stuff). Three of them couldn't stop Stewart! But secondary can play with a lot more speed and take some chances because they're not going to have to cover for 10 or 12 seconds.

I think we've got us a defense.

The LSU OL will be a good test. It was considered by most to be the strongest OL in college football to start the season. So far, it hasn't lived up to its hype, but it's the best OL we will have faced thus far.

We have a good defensive line. Kennard is a beast he just needs to be a little more disciplined.
