I am glad that Mississippi and the conference are taking student athlete's safety a top priority. smh

DAAAMMMMMNNN. Thanks for sharing. That was not an issue of swinging the ball around. totally unsolicited other than Davis must have been shutting him down all night with great defense. Did this cut Davis? draw blood or was it a graze?
Davis is fine. After the assault and the team pushing Davis away to avoid a brawl, Davis went to the free throw line and made one out of two shots. I think it was planned because Davis did get ejected from the Florida game last season so Mississippi tried to get him ejected to get any momentum going their way. I think Mississippi coaching staff was involved with the salvage act.

A lot of credit goes to Davis in practicing cooler heads prevailing philosophy. You should not be at risk losing your teeth or eye sight over a basketball game and it is outrageous that Mississippi and the conference could care less.

no doubt....arrests would be made....what concerns me is the precedent the SEC is setting....if no players are facing discipline what stopping somebody from drop kicking someone this weekend
Thaaaaat's right. There Are some people I'd kick in the nuts if I could get by with it. There's something to be said for deterrence.

This bothered me so bad I wrote the SEC. I know they don’t care, but where does this stuff end if we don’t speak out?

Last year we had an SEC player commit murder and he finished the season so I guess they think throwing elbows is horseplay

1st Offense as far I know. I'm fine with the ejection. It took Draymond Green 10 years of doing this type stuff to get suspended even a few games.

It's a frequent occurrence now in HS, as we now have 6ft 3in 200lb guys playing in the girl's league assaulting players severely enough to require medical attention.

Same thing happened at Fitchburg State - they suspended the player indefinitely and barred him from campus. Not surprised that UM did nothing…

Meh, basketball is a thug sport to start with. It is unreasonable to expect the players to behave in a manner different than how they always have. It is cultural.
