Thanks Tom. I wasn’t exactly sure how the rules are written as far as copying stories. I’ve tried to read stories behind a paywall and got rebuffed. This one was free and I figured it would be okay to post.??
Why would it not be allowed? I link articles involving PSU wrestling all the time.
Congrats and good luck on your impending retirement! Thanks Tom. I wasn’t exactly sure how the rules are written as far as copying stories. I’ve tried to read stories behind a paywall and got rebuffed. This one was free and I figured it would be okay to post.
Side note, I’m retiring in a few weeks and training my replacement which has kept me from posting. Kind of like doing a job yourself takes a couple of hours but enlisting a child and same job takes all day.
You’re an animal! Thanks for the guidelines.Congrats and good luck on your impending retirement!
I'm not Tom (duh!) or a mod, but here's how I proceed with articles:
- Link: always OK. Additionally, it's courteous to note when the article is behind a paywall.
- Quote from an article: usually OK if fairly small. General rule of thumb: people should still want to read the article. The author who did the work should get the page views.
- Extensive quote: no bueno. See above. Also could get the site/mods in trouble, especially on paywalled articles -- can't give away proprietary info.
- Copy/paste the entire article: woof.
Greg, Tom -- feel free to correct any of the above.
