If Paris is a pilot and Jackson is a passenger on the plane Paris is flying, then he can land him. Otherwise...nah.
Coach Paris seems capable and accomplished. He enters an arena where no coaches get out of here successful.

If he doesn't go out and see Jackson personally today after he is introduced as the next coach and make a in-person visit, then he isn't the right man for the job. Paris can talk to the media at another time, today is the time to make calls and visits to High School coaches and players.
Some of our "fans" are embarassing on social media. Talking about a tennessee type coup over the hire. I have no idea if this will work or not but he's our coach. I'm behind him 100% until he's not.
I agree. Whatever our thoughts about the acquisition, we are all stakeholders in his success.
It may not be official. Considering there is no word of a BOT meeting having been called (which would be required for contract approval). The calling of a BOT meeting requires notice as it is a public university. My guess is the votes are divided and a lot of BOT Members who were initially on board are now hearing from others outside the search lobbying for BJ.
Correct. Not official until USC issues a press release to that effect.

Ha! Although I have noticed the article in The State has some wiggle room.
Remember, for contracts with a large $$$, the BOT has to approve. That's been discussed in this thread, and I think that some posters' opinions of the BOT's holdup are plausible.
As of now I'll be wishing our new coach the best of success because we'll all have success.
What we do or don't do regarding Tanner will be sorted out by the new President.
Our BOT should vote their approval on the Paris hire. Just get it done. Anything else just further prolongs our public embarrassment. Any other future coaching hires will be influenced negatively if they decide to compromise this hire.

That would be perfect. Make a decision and have the clowns on the BOT get involved and then still hire Paris. Perfect storm of stupid.

I'm embarrassed with this hire. People with your attitude are the reason we suck at everything. Our "fans" accept whatever bs the university feeds us. They get rich, make 20 million dollar mistakes and fleece us for more money.

I'm pissed off. We had a home run hire - Miller. We had a great, accomplished gamecock - Marshall. We had a young, up and comer, gamecock - McKie. and we get Paris.
We paid 6 miilion bucks to get Paris! Really? You support that.
Why are you embarrassed? Paris hasn’t even coached one game. And no we never had a home run hire with Miller. He got what he thought was a better offer and turned us down. We not only need a good coach but one that actually thinks we’re worthy of their time and effort. I would have been fine with BJ as well. There were pluses and minuses for each of the final 2. Time will tell if Paris can get it done or not. I hope he does and will be our coach for years to come.
Whoever the coach is, I want them to recruit well, be consistently competitive on the court, and represent USC well.
Do what Dale Brown did at LSU to get Stanley Roberts back in the day, he hired Jim Childers who was Stanley's HS coach. Offer Stoneman an assistant's position because the guy can flat out coach and hopefully GG will follow to USC.
As I posted in another thread...BOT will meet tomorrow at noon with the approval of a new coaches contract the only thing on the agenda.
