Another fairly thin number used by athletes. My number 29 is Rod Carew.

Most times, State players aren’t the first ones to pop into my head during the number game, but for this one, Christian Ducre was my only answer.

Yeah he was a Met for awhile but after the Amazin' Mets. He grew up on Long Island but the only time I ever faced him was one at bat in the Nassau County All-Star game in 1978. He struck me out. Guess his East Meadow team was never good enough to make the playoffs.
I can't believe you let a future 15 year MLB vet, Cy Young winning World Series MVP strike you out. Embarrassing**

I fully believed he was better than Dixon circa 2007. That didn’t stick but he was awesome on the one decent Croom team.

He was very underrated for sure. He’s one of those “what could have been” guys for me
