Watching Tennessee-Washington. Dotson is out, Brian Robinson is in, fully back from a gunshot wound. (How this is possible is unknown, when he got shot in the knee, the bullet missed all bone and ligaments.)

Wow, Cousins is 17-17, Vikings up over Bears 21-3, in Minneapolis.

Currently in London. Seeing a lot of dejected packers fans on the tube. Didn’t realize they were playing the giants till yesterday. Not sure why but there are a lot of packer fans in London. So tourists with packers gear in Edinburgh earlier in the week as well.

From what I saw on the broadcast, the Packers fans were predominant in the stadium.

That would be embarrassing even by Big (2)(12)(+2/‘24) standards.

NFL….the official should be suspended and docked a paycheck. If NYC is watching all these plays why can’t they overrule a call this pathetic?

That looked a lot like preserving the Bucs win than protecting Brady. The run down of multiple other hits that weren't called shows that.
Didn't watch the game and not necessarily a Falcons fan although I live in ATL. Did watch the linked video above and it looked like a textbook good solid tackle to me. Had the Falcons pulled out the win, the Bucs would've been 2-3 and the Falcons 3-2, as it is, the records are now reversed. Things that make you go hmm. Watching less and less of the NFL these days and glad I'm missing it. The way it's going, it's no better than WWE.

Jim in the NFL when the QB slides, he is not to be hit, period. so that was a terrible no call.
That's not the case.
  1. A defender must pull up when a runner begins a feet-first slide. This does not mean that all contact by a defender is illegal. If a defender has already committed himself, and the contact is unavoidable, it is not a foul unless the defender makes forcible contact into the head or neck area of the runner with the helmet, shoulder, or forearm, or commits some other act that is unnecessary roughness. END. I bolded the sentence above.
If the defender went helmet-to-helmet on Pickett, then, yeah, it should have been a flag, but I didn't see this while watching the video, and didn't have the benefit of a slo-mo replay. But a million times we've all seen quarterbacks hit while sliding.

go to the :57 sec mark and see that.....if Pickett was Brady it was clearly a foul.
if a picture is worth a 1000 words a video has to be worth 10,000.

You said, “when the qb slides, he is not to be hit, period.” The Rulebook says this is not the case. That’s what I was responding to.

Reminds me a little of the 1999 UM vs PSU game where Brady led Michigan to two TDs in its final two possessions to win the game. In those final two possessions the Michigan OL were tackling the PSU defensive linemen on near every passing play to keep them off Brady's back and not one holding penalty was called. The referee in that game was our good friend Bill Lemonier.

That roughing call in the Tampa game is a fireable blunder IMO. Likely cost some people money.
