I think it only fair to compare units from the same era, so there's two groups each I'm curious to get opinions on:

From the 1980s:
Air Coryell Chargers vs Bears' 46

And the early 2000s:
2000 Ravens vs Rams Greatest show on turf

Do y'all see these offenses torching these defenses, or getting shut down by them?

And in case anyone is asking, yes, these units would be in their prime at peak ability.

I remember only two things about Air Coryell's Chargers: 1) Dan Fouts was the originator of the 300 yard passing game; 2) Kellen Winslow with an oxygen tank on the sideline is absolutely lethal to a defense. Now, having said that, I cannot recall how good or bad their offensive line was. And, for that reason, I'd take the Bears 46 Zone over Air Coryell's Chargers.

From the early 2000s

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY ever showed any signs of slowing down, let alone stopping, The Greatest Show on Turf. When Trent Green went down with that knee injury in the preseason everybody wrote-off the Rams. I remember watching Steve Young on a post game show after the Super Bowl talk about what Kurt Warner had done and he was absolutely mystified -- his words could not come together and he actually said out loud how blown away he was about the Rams offense. The Ravens D in the early 2000s was stifling, but there is no way they could slow down all the weapons the Rams had: Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Kurt Warner. Decision: Rams.

In those days it seemed like the AFC team was just fodder for whichever NFC team ran the ball down their throats in the Super Bowl. I was a Dolphins fan.
