Offensive Line Will Make Or Break Us Saturday

in my mind this is the group of players where I have the most concern. I realize many believe our secondary is vulnerable and it may be. However, if the O line can actually block and allow us to keep the ball longer it will give the bad guys fewer opportunities to exploit our secondary. Relf looked cool last week but who wouldn't when one could literally just stand there and look for receivers? He will not have that luxury this week. Pressure changes a lot of things and can force QB's to throw those interceptions. Lee may be the more effective of the two this week. I think he is quicker and more elusive and that will be a real necessity if the O line doesn't block effectively. As everyone knows, we will learn a ton about our team this week. It all starts with the big guys up front.</p>

I'm hoping AD and Ducre can wear them out, then maybe bring in Brandon Heavens in the 4th and burn their tired defense on the corners. I am not a football coach though.

one of their starting safeties is a true freshmen who arrived on campus a couple of days after practice began in August. He had a pick against La Tech, but you'd have to think this is something that could work in our favor a few times if QBs are given time.

The offensive line is going to be key. But, aren't they always?

Brandon Heavens is a weapon I think many are overlooking. He could have had two touchdowns last week also.

i think relf will be the most effective QB this game and most or all of the others. but not throwing the ball. i think we should put the ball in the air as few times as possible unless we are throwing screens, quick hitches, or swing passes. Relf can be effective running the option and the read. We should concentrate on handing the ball to AD and running a Relf read/option with Elliot, Ducre, Heavens, Bumphis, & Stallworth.

I think if we can rush for over 100 yards we win the game (and also do not turn the ball over) . Running will open up play action , short screens, and the passing game as a whole . Our quarterbacks are not good enough to single handedly win the game for us , but with a running game they can execute efficiently .

if you win on the line 9 times out of 10 you will win the game. thats why the o-line is so important. thats why they spend so much time recruiting those guys because they are the most important unit on the field. next most important thing seems to be special teams. or at least it is when its bad.

I got a bad feeling that AU will put up some points this weekend. Obviously, if we run the ball well, we control the ball and eat up clock, keeping their offense on the bench. However, I think they still can put up points in limited situations. We are going to really need the defense to step up.

Also, cut down on the penalties/turnovers. Far to many of those last week.
