Straight from inside sources. From most likely to least:

Jamey Chadwell
Jeff Traylor
Rhett Lashlee
Tom Herman
John Sumrall
Lance Leipold
Barry Odom
Gus Bus
Clay Helton
Jeff Lebby

The list is not in order of best coach, it's in order of who we have the most interest in and who is likely to have the most interest in us.

Extreme Dark horse - Bob Stoops (I'm sure his interest has been gauged for every major opening), Jim Harbaugh (if Mich fires him- very unlikely and Goodell blackballs him).

100% will not be Mullen (he couldn't recruit with UF's NIL and the portal), Petrino, or Art Briles. Joe Judge is not a candidate either, but with the right rehabilitation, he could become one down the road.

It will not be an NFL guy... with the portal and early signing day, you can't wait until Jan or later for a coach. It will not be a DC and almost no chance of being an OC (Lebby's on the list due to the OU connection).

Four more it will not be: Special Ed, Rich Rod, Kingsbury or Hud.

So how is the guy who was offered the job before Leech now not a candidate and needs rehabilitation?

We have a better shot a relanding Dopey Dan than your two Dark Horse pics. And I put our chance of re-hiring the Dopester at 0.05%

That's exactly what a dark horse is, a candidate with virtually no chance. We all know Stoops has likely turned down many jobs and Harbaugh is not getting fired. Dark horse candidates are just for fun.

Concur with Danny boy's chances be better than the other two, but none of those will be our next coach.

uh, google his tenure with the NFL team he coached, it was a "Giant" disaster. He should have went through the Saban rehabilitation program (if he wants to coach in college)

Because the only reason he was a candidate the first time is because we promoted the dang baseball coach to AD. There is literally nothing about his resume that says he should be an SEC head coach.

I think I would say virtually no chance is even being generous for the dark horse guys you mentioned. There is zero chance… to the point they would not even be contacted about the job.

No Pete Carroll?!? He’s literally the healthiest septuagenarian on the planet!

Did you know he jogs to Denny’s for the 4 pm special? No rascals for this man; he’s got the energy of a 65 year old!

On the recruiting trail, you need the type of energy only a handful of Centrum Silver can provide.

With Bruce Airans as OC and Monte Kiffin as DC. Tony Little/Richard Simmons can co chair strength and conditioning.
