I really can’t wrap my head around why the big ten is letting their biggest games be played at such a **** time. Who wants a frickin noon kickoff. I HATE them.

Big Noon Garbage is so OSU and UM Never have to play in a Whiteout at night ever again.
Next season will be interesting with the addition of the four western schools. I'm not exactly sure how the network game selection works but I don't think Fox will be able to hog all the high profile games. I'd say there's a good chance of the 2024 Whiteout being against either OSU or one of the new members. NBC will love it.

You got it , their worst nightmare ( white out) .

Big noon game against top 25 opponents stink. Northwestern had 25K fans for an 11:00 A.M. start, that's FCS stats, with 50% capacity, i guess tv overrides attendance.

I have wondered if any concessions have been made to the west coast schools that they will not play 12:00 games. Seems like that start time could really put them at a competitive advantage after traveling across the country and basically losing three hours.

Fwiw, the USC-Colorado game time (10am local time) was agreed to by both teams. Money always wins nowadays.

It wouldn't surprise me. I know in past years some of the PAC schools felt they weren't being given their due respect by the pollsters. They attributed it to a lack of television exposure on the east coast. Next year they'll get some of the exposure they felt they've been missing. Also, CBS and NBC will be ecstatic to carry games which will draw some west coast eyeballs they typically may not have gotten in the past.

So, we can have USC, Oregon or Washington as the night time White Out? That would work. Heck, for West Coast teams, an 8 PM Eastern kick would probably be appreciated.

The TCU - Colorado game was also 10 AM local. And 130 degrees on the field. Cuz, ya know....Texas in early September.

Why? Most of them have never experienced it.
Speak for yourself. My first term at PSU I screwed up my registration (at the Armory with the IBM punchcards) and ended up with a Saturday 8am class, Psychology 101. I missed one single class all term and the cut policy cost me enough points to go from an A to a B. (I don’t remember if there were plus or minus grades back then, 1974.)

Yeah - "most of them".

According to a tentative schedule for 2024, it looks like PSU has Ohio State and USC at home in back to back weeks. I would think one of those games will be the whiteout. At least, I hope, both of those games at noon would be a travesty.

Isn't it likely that our schedule next year changes again because of Oregon and Washington?

Where did you see that? Yes tOSU and USC are on the home schedule in '24 but I'd be shocked if we play them on consecutive weekends.

Maybe? Who knows. I can’t predict the future. But, as of now, PSU plays OSU and USC at home on back to back weeks.

Nothing is set in stone, but this is what I found. Regardless, one of those two games I would think would be the Whiteout. Either would be a great time.

Good find, but there aren't any dates listed on that schedule (except for first 3). It would very likely not stay in that order as listed since it would be 5 consecutive homes games and then 3 consecutive away games to end the season. But, based on history with B1G scheduling...I guess anything is possible.

I know. I realize that. It’s probably just a starting point, but, as I said, regardless, it looks like OSU and USC are both home games. One of those should be the Whiteout and the other a big noon kickoff on Fox(sucks).

Yes, some people don't pay attention to the news. A number of months ago (prior to the addition of UW and Oregon), the B10 released each school's list of teams they would be playing in 2024 and 2025. They showed the home and away teams but definitely NOT the dates which were tbd. That is what LB99 found.

Then, a few weeks/months later the P12 blew up and UW and Oregon joined the B10 effective 2024. This means back to the drawing board for the schedule makers and
neither the opponents or dates for the entire conference have been released yet except for the nonconference games for each school.

Agree.
The new schedule will probably have three of the four west coast teams plus OSU and Mi every year. There should be some new choices for White Games over the next few years.

Good. Wake up, cook a kick arse breakfast, eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, and scrapple. Do a think or two around the house then plop my fat arse on the couch and crack beers at noon!! Hate waiting all day to watch a big game at night.
