Ok, NOW that the dust has settled, what have we lost to the portal

Update to my older thread. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that NOW the worst is over. 🤞 So I go back to asking what have we lost to the portal?

We lost a lot of non-contributors (addressed in a previous thread how this reflects on recruiting...different topic).

We lost Antwane, but he was a non-contributor last season anyway, and we were not expecting him to be back next season until his "injury" anyway. I don't consider him a loss in that respect. We have no production to replace from him and we are where we assumed we'd be at this point once he announced he was returning. And, I think WR is one of the easier positions to fill from the portal. JMHO

Anderson is gone, but we appeared to make a significant upgrade there if Sanders commits. Nobody knew anything about Attaway, so until further notice, I'm just counting on him for depth. With Sanders and Braswell we should have a good 2- deep (again, since Attaway is an unknown for the most part, I'm just not factoring him in yet...don't anyone pretend you know all about him). If, and it's an IF, we could add Hill, our RB room will be stout. All that to say, as pleasantly surprised as we all were with Anderson, I don't consider that a loss since we have upgraded.

Anderson-who?? 😉😉😉

Sorry, I just couldn’t help it. 😉😄

Hopefully our run game next season makes us forget all about the 2023 run game (it was forgettable for the most part).

I think it is pretty much the same at every program. The players who jump into the portal are, for the most part, the ones who weren't panning out as expected and got their lip poked out and think they are worth more than they really are.

The only real issue is the chemistry in the locker room suffering from all the turnover.
