Anyone who complains baseball is too long is NOT a baseball fan.
The DH was the worst development in the history of the game and lowering the mound was right there with it.

They need to put baseball back like it was. It's getting as revisionist as Nascar. "Placing" runners on second base in extra-inning games is a travesty. Making the DH universal is a travesty. Letting a pitcher stay in the game as a DH if he's a good hitter after he's been replaced on the mound is messed up. Baseball isn't baseball anymore. The manager's job is not more than 60% of what it used to be.
Ah, the dayz of thinking baseball/strategy……..on KDKA(50,000 watt clear channel 1020), many a night Danny Murtaugh would pull Alvin O’Neal McBean, send him to left, then put him back on the mound after they retired the lefty.
He could do that cause Al was an athlete!

Outside of the NL, does anyone pull double switches anymore? You know, bring in a pitcher and substitute another player at the same time but bat them in the order to get the hitter up first and the pitcher later - if he's still in there.
