OL and Teasley: Yes, Sellers broke 18 tackles...but he had to break 18 tackles. Teasley gotta go.

Much of the heroics we've seen from Sellers in the past few games has been him breaking away from sure sacks for huge losses and turning them into big plays. Both of our scores against Clemson were done this way. Sellers mixed another couple of huge runs this way. Of course, he did in the Mizzou game as well.

It makes for thrilling football, but I don't think asking your QB to regularly break multiple tackles and escape sacks is a recipe for success.

Seller's dynamic play against Mizzou and Clemson should not obscure the fact that the OL allowed him to be almost instantly pressured on those plays.

I felt like moving on from Teasley was a no-brainer at the end of last season and feel just as strongly at the end of this season.

I've been saying this all season. A lot of the line problems have been callused over by winning, but we must get a new OL coach.

It's ridiculous.

His replacement is already on staff.

This team is reminiscent of the Late 80s/early 90s Philadelphia Eagles where Buddy Ryan had a killer defense and Randall Cunningham and some good, not great skills players. He told Randall to go out and make 3 or 4 big plays a game and the defense would take care of the rest. That's about what we've seen from Carolina this year.

I said last season that a change needed to be made at OL and was surprised it did not happen. We are 120+th in the nation for sacks allowed and being tackled behind the line of scrimmage. I believe most Gamecock fans feel a change should be made at OL. But just like when Jason Alexander (aka George Costanza) was asked if he wanted to see "Seinfeld" come back on the air with new episodes, his answer is what our answer is about Teasley: We are not the lynchpin to make it happen.

We heard all week about Clemson and their injuries on the Oline and patchwork line, but nothing to it, instead we saw a great coaching job by a Matt Luke, a high level professional O Line coach.

I hate that he is there, I like it when Dabo hires ex Clemson players with little coaching experience to mold them

120th is terrible, but actual results mean nothing. We need someone who plays Madden to really evaluate the OL and tell us how awesome they are.

I would be all for Sean Elliott taking the reins of the OL. I'm certain he has some input now. I don't know that coaching is the whole problem but at least we haven't been killed with injuries this year for the first time in forever.

But I disagree that they are doing that bad. They held up quite well on many plays. Sometimes the defense just has your number. Sometimes they dial up a blitz You simply can't stop. One thing that would help is if we had at least one good possession receiver that can be counted on to be open on a timing route. We don't have that guy.
I'm not sure how many football games I've watched this year where an offensive line just dominated against a team of similar talent. It doesn't happen that much anymore. And I'm not talking about Alabama or Georgia playing an FCS school.

We have bee bringing in some great o-line talent the last couple of years. Time to do what the big boys do, make necessary changes regardless of whether we exceeded expectations or not before that talent gets wasted. The best teams make changes in their weak spots, regardless of whether they went 6-6 or 11-1.

Although we have run better up the middle, the OL is same as last year for the most part. Imagine if Rattler were back there this year. We'd be 7-5 at best.

He will be replaced by Shawn Elliott. That’s why we hired him.

I think we may take a step forward next year with the guys who sat out this year, like Tree, Trout, and Anderson. Two have experience and had a year to get better. Depending on the lineup we should be more talented up front.

We were told last year the OL would have been great if not for the player who were out with injury.

It's the most Jeckle and Hyde group I have ever seen. The pin and pull worked great against A &M and the. Abandon it the following week. I don't get it.

If we could block and the freshman WR's come in and are SEC ready we could be prolific on offense next year. WE could average 38 plus points per game. Average 250 plus passing and 200 plus rushing. When will the young Olineman bloom? is it next year? Fuller could develop into a Chubb. But none of this happens if the RB is dodging a DLineman at the point of handoff. WR blocking too is not good. Go back and look at Harbour on the Shuttle pass TD to Sanders. His defender way out on the flank almost made a tackle at the goal line- if harbor had just stood in front of him a little Sanders could have strolled in. Blocking is not pushing. Simpkins, who is the penalty offender in the Clemson game, at least had a little mustard about himself. NOt one lineman or TE can block like Adkins. Adkins would smash opponents which has a lot to do with defenses backing tfu and not blitzing every play. WE need Oline strength- Also Thompson needs to put on weight- he is light at 275 blocking a 315 lb DE. Good news he is a true freshman and seems to be a Gamecock for life!! hope so anyway.

This is what Beamer has to consider. With Sellers, we can be poised to have an explosive offensive. Do you really want to roll the dice on Teasley again?

There just hasn't been anything there.

Coach, if you want Sellers to have a legitimate Heisman campaign next season, you have to get the OL issues straightened out.

Not to mention, we are essentially rebuilding the D.

We NEED our offense to be all it can be next season. It should not be hard to upgrade here, and I don't think Elliott is a good enough upgrade.

You are spot on. Not being overly critical at all. We could be prolific if we could fix this!!

Beamer certainly can see the issue on the offense that we do. Keeping someone because he is good at recruiting is dumb if that person is coaching the OL, probably the most important position on the team.

How about this? Go nab Shawn Clark - App St just fired him...and Elliott knows him very well. I love having Elliott free to be run game coordinator/TE coach/maybe ASST HC???? and then add another great OL coach which Shawn Clark is. Could really set the offense off.
