at the start of the season, we thought we had a potentially good OL. however, I doubt if we ever saw the true OL all healthy and playing together. Now I think we may have had a great OL, but it just never was healthy and all together. We have a LT who is likely to enter the draft as a first rounder, and played less than one full season in games. It is possible that every player on the OL will wind up on an NFL roster at some point. Just never played together at 100% healthy.

Looking at the OL, we have 15 scholarship players. How many are actually available to play? It feels like may 8-9 at most. The coaching staff has had to do some incredible juggling to keep this from turning into a bigger problem.

The big thing for me was improvement on the oline this year. We started getting movement in run blocking. Pass blocking was usually good except for the Michigan game and some OSU. We have some excellent recruits coming in that will add depth and competition. The whole line can come back except as you noted Fashanu will probably leave and should if a 1st round pick let alone top.teb as some are projecting. Coach Traut I think is really getting his guys for the oline and starting to develop a good oline. I had questions about him heading into this year but he really proved himself to me this year

If we look at the MSU game, we had Fashanu, Tengwall and Wallace (starters out). Wormley and Nourzad playing but still supposedly less than 100%. Dawkins and GIA out for injuries. That leaves 10 scholarship OL and 2 not at 100%.

I've been confused about our OL for years. During years when they are bad we still send a few to the NFL. Who thought guys like Bates, Fries, & McGovern were stars? This year we see Fashnau being touted as a 1st or 2nd round pick. He only started one game last year. It seemed to me that he did a good job pass blocking and averagd job run blocking during his 7 or so games this year but did anybody think he was dominant?

I really think he needs another year in strength/conditioning and as you said to refine his run blocking. He also is young, only 19. He will have to go against much more mature, stronger and quicker men. With limited roster space, the NFL cannot be patient with OLs.

I think the Olu 1st round predictions aren't valid. Especially, since he missed the past few games. Not enough tape for nfl guys to really get a read. Only caveat would be if he can put up monster workout numbers.

Didn't give up a sack this year including OSU and Michigan ...that is impressive. Was strong run blocking why they ran towards him and Tengwell when they needed a yard or two. Super long arms with good footwork and super young. His ceiling is very high and hence has the NFL scouts drooling and several drafts have him a top 10 pick in the first round
