Old timers need only reply: name the one qb who could bounce off tacklers like Sellers…

Good guess, but they are not in that league. Are we talking about Gamecock QB’s or all historical college QB’s?

Michael Vick is the only comparison I can come up with.
Cam Newton I suppose could be in there but he wasn't Vick....

A1 - Anthony Wright (?) was elusive at times and hard to bring down but nowhere in the same universe as a Cam or Vick.

EDIT - Vince Young? He was a big dude.

Except for maybe the speed, I can see a little Big Ben Roethlisberger in him

Either Jalen Hurts (only 6'1), Dak Prescott (very similar), or Todd Ellis.

I think I'll go with Ellis. ;)

sCam Newton made a career out if it. It's a little different to me. Cam had a knack for falling forward for 4 yards. His runs were usually designed runs. I think the idea is really for Sellers to sit in the pocket and make his reads, but that OL keeps him on the move. Notice when Klubnik ran he was untouched. It was the last resort due to good coverage and it didn't look as if we spied him. Sellers is breaking arm tackles and dodging defensive players all over the field.

Said it before this season on this very forum...Sellers is the most talented QB that we've ever had. Not talking systems, etc...JUST pure physical skill running and throwing....he's the best. Built like Tebow, runs like Cam Newton/Tebow in college and has great throwing ability that will only continue to show better.
With better protection and little better receiving corps....watch out.

I have said for a couple of decades that Michael Vick was the most electrifying college QB I have watched in my lifetime. After watching Sellers for the last half of this season, I'm willing to say that Sellers reminds me of a Tebow-sized Michael Vick.

Objectively, he is probably not the fastest guy on the field, but he somehow always looks like the fastest guy on the field.

For the answer to the question…I’m thinking Tony Rice? But don’t think Rice was near the passer Sellers is.

He reminds me of Lamar Jackson with his elusiveness and ability to make plays when it looks like he’s dead.

What’s interesting is how much he improved after escaping in only a span of 4-5 games. It wasn’t long ago he slid a couple of times a yard short of the 1st down marker…now he’s running through tackles.

We’ll have to manage that next season. Don’t need our best player taking that many hits. But it’s quite the weapon when the game is on the line.
