I think it's only a no-contest on LSU's side. Their opponents still have a loss. Which makes zero sense, but trying to punish a school by vacating wins from years ago it pretty stupid to begin with.
It still makes me sick to think about the somersaults the NCAA had to do to keep Cam Newton eligible when he and his dad did the same thing. Investigations that normally take years were all of the sudden done in two days. Then they gave a one-time pass saying Cam didn't know (even though he admitted he did) but they would never allow the pass again. You can't vacate a win unless you also vacate the loss. At the very least it should appear that the game didn't exist with the win comes off their slate and the loss coming off ours.
Dubest rule. If they cheated to win then at least the loss should be vacated as well.
