How much money does the SEC get for each team in the CFP? You can't see the forest for the trees!
If Ole Miss gets knocked out the odds are nearly 100% they will be replaced by another SEC team. You aren't even looking at the right forest.

There will be 4 with or without Ole Miss. As mentioned earlier, ESPN would much rather a larger market team with 5X more eyeballs than Ole Miss (Bama, Georgia, Texas, A&M, LSU, Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida all have much more fans than Ole Miss)

If Mississippi doesn’t make it, Tennessee will. SEC doesn’t care cause we all get paid either way.
The SEC is going to push for 5 teams. Mississippi is ranked 3rd highest SEC team in CFP followed closely by Georgia and UT. This is how they will in all probability finish the season. Texas and Alabama will play in the SEC Championship game. Alabama has to win to attempt the 5 team coupe.

SEC isn’t getting 5 without help from Notre Dame. But do you people seriously think the SEC is somehow orchestrating these games to get the outcome they want? Cause someone forgot to tell Florida last week when they knocked LSU out of contention. That’s some serious paranoia.

I'd think the Bears showing tomorrow against Florida would be highly decisive in their selection or non-selection. They'll do their best to blow Florida out, and Florida will do their best to prevent that. The Bears have a really good offense, however. I don't think it'll be a close game.

Speaking of scheduling - game times are set just a week or two before they're actually played. So why are two of the biggest games - Ohio State/Indiana and Ole Miss/Florida televised at the same time?

And the best sack defense in the country. Miss win big to secure CFP spot.

I said "probable" finish with 5 in contention. If that happens with all 5 in the top 12 don't you think they have a case? Florida is no match for Miss.

For some reason the 2014 UM-Arkansas game keeps popping in my head. Ole Miss is due a "We are Ole Miss" moment, and Florida has its QB back and seems to be catching some momentum. What's stranger is that the set up for this game and the 14 UM-ARK game are very similar. Ole Miss was 8-2 going into that game and ARK was 5-5 coming off a win against a ranked LSU team just like this years Florida team. The 14 UM team had lost their two games by a combined 7 points, but had the big win against Bama. This years team has lost by a combined 6 points (would've been 7 you were to kick an XP at the end of the game) in it's 2 losses and a big win against Georgia. They say history never repeats itself but often rhymes.

The Big 10 top 4 are locks with all ranked in top 5. #6 Notre Dame is a lock if they win out, maybe even with 1 loss. That only leaves 3 more at large sports, so SEC gets 4 in.

but your right, it’s all moot. Mississippi will best Florida without any help from SEC.

i lean heavy on the big 10 top 4 are locks.. but waiting to see... lots of rumblings about it. And they did drop BYU 9 spots with their loss.... if the game is a blowout.... be interesting rankings.

They won’t drop a Big 10 team like they did BYU.

maybe not... i wouldnt bet they do either... but safe to say indiana isnt the typical big 10 team with the typical big 10 schedule.

I would have said no way ever last week.. but lots of rumblings against Indiana and their position... more than i thought i'd hear.

42-14. It'll make be tune in next tuesday to see.

If the point is to get the best teams in football in the playoffs, the SEC will get five in.

If it's about selling advertising, we only get three.

Bad news for those wanting OM to lose. I think Florida is going to give them a good game and may win. This in itself is a very bad omen for the Gators .

Off the main topic a little, but Alabama has a bad loss. Any loss to Vanderbilt by another SEC team is a big black mark, no matter that they're better this year. But, they're Alabama and will survive. I don't think we would nor would OM.

Vandy is “better” but they’re not good. They’ll finish 6-6 even with that big win over Alabama.

Hopefully UF will have their “remember Tebow” loss in Oxford and seek an unholy revenge for that loss. It won’t happen but it was be fantastic.

Is Bama's Vandy loss worse the OM's to UK or even LSU at this point? How much will SOS really matter too. With two weeks to play some losses could look even worse.

Because Fox loves Ohio State in the Big Noon game. They’ve been on there almost every week. Ohio State fans are pissed because they’ve played at noon almost all season.

ESPN wants a good game on at 11 as well. That’s a pretty good one to put in that spot.

What a lot of us don’t realize is the 11:00 time slot is a premier one, maybe 2nd behind the 6:00 slot. We’re just used to it being bad games because ESPN used to have a big Big 10 game in that slot.

They sorta missed the boat on a good game today, - Wake vs Miami. Miami fans don't even go to their games when they're #1. I doubt they'll watch it on television either, and there aren't many Wake Forest fans. And going up against the Fox and ABC games at the same time slot will be tough for TV fans.

Off topic - But Laura is using her assets today on SEC Nation.

A second half game is all you could hope for. Florida better on 3rd down.

Mississippi able to mask their 3rd down woes with the 4th and short cheat code.
