On paper, we're pretty deep at QB...on paper only

If Rattler should depart, we'll have four 4* QBs on the roster (Doty, Bailey, Davis and Sellers) and one 3* (Gauthier).

It's deep on paper, but paper thin when it comes to experience...like tissue paper thin. Doty attempted 14 passes this past season. If Rattler should leave, it looks like 2023 will be a developmental year for QBs. Combine that with us being gutted at the WR/TE position (losing 4 of our top 5 pass catchers and 8 of top 12 if Wells leaves) and things don't look great for the passing game in 2023. Combine that with losing our top 2 rushers and...well...Loggains has his work cut out for him.

Doty needed more playing time this year but didn't get it. Mistake which may be regretful if it plays out the way you suggest.

Yeah, that did not work out great for us. But I can kind of see Beamer's position in that there weren't a lot of great opportunities for him to get reps. We surely could have gotten him more than we did (he probably should have played the whole second half vs SC State), but there weren't many blowout games for us.

Will be Bailey or Sellers if Rattler departs.

I am also leaning Bailey. Intrigued by Sellers, though. From the little bit of film I've seen, he looks crazy athletic. Have read comparisons to Lamar Jackson. I think Sellers has been somewhat injury prone though.

Add in, we're going to be inexperienced on the OL. Things are bleak on paper for the offense.

He has not been injury prone. Unfortunate injury last year like anyone who plays football.

When's the last time we felt really good about our OL?
I think I was in short pants sitting on daddy’s knee. Seriously 1980 or was it 1984 best I can remember off the top of my head. Actually, both of them and most were recruited by Carlen.

Doty has a pretty fair amount of playing time in at this point on the whole and has been in the system for years. I feel comfortable with him. Hoping Rattler comes back of course though

Jim Carlen era....
Lol, our Oline in at least a few of the 11 win seasons was solid, and with Shaw/Lattimore they were good enough to often overcome failed assignments or poor blocking on the line. Our Oline in 2014 was even pretty good best I recall
