Since Schmidt is a former Gamecock, I don’t expect this to get too much traction on here. However…The Yankees scheduled starter was scratched 5 hours prior to first pitch and Schmidt was told he’d be starting. He just went out and pitched 3 scoreless innings of 1 run ball, striking out 5.

He and Monty are doing well. As is Christian Walker with Ariz. Jackie has been hitting better lately with the Sox. We all know about Merrifield as the established lead off with the Royals.

Yeah, Monty is doing great. He just doesn’t walk anyone. 10 walks through 60+ IP this year. His W/L record isn’t great, but only bc he got absolutely no run support early on.
