Last I heard it was us, Bama or UT. Guess I haven’t kept up with it much. Would be a kick in the nuts to miss out on him.

From what I have read on this board, we have filled the RB positions and have slowed the recruiting effort of Hill to almost nothing. Its unlikely Hill will commit to us now.

Not really, he has stagnated and our running back room has changed and improved and gotten full.

No one really expects him to come here anymore.

Seems to me like a player from watching his process and the indecisiveness that probably plays a year or 2 at Miss State, develops some, and hits the portal.

That's the new player life cycle for most players.

And now one to Bama.

We are now no longer favored to land him, per On3.

Oh well, we'll find out on Saturday.

Feels like we're back in the "needing some good news" position where we seem to find ourselves every few weeks.

I saw a quote from Hill where he said he still talks to our staff every day. This feels like Harbor's recruitment. That last week we had crystal balls to Maryland and Oregon popping up. We'll see how this shakes out. We may not get him, but I'm not counting Beamer out.

ON3 upping the odds that he'll pick Bama.

This is one we really needed to get in this class.

Prior to the portal additions at RB this was absolutely crucial but now not quite so much.A nice get but another Qb and some others might be more important right now.Now if Carolina was somehow in play for Judkins that would be a different story

Nah, we absolutely needed Hill.

Firing Hardesty could be an indication that the ship has sailed here.

Needs are now assessed on a year to year basis. Hill is not needed to compete in 2024. Nice to have for the future? Sure. But it's not a need...especially at the RB position. Landing Gatlin was a need.

If he comes with experienced guys ahead of him he’s one that would have to be recruited after the season , but in todays world they all have to be recruited anyway.

It's the nature of the beast today. We went from having 2 scholarship RBs to 6 (including Fuller coming in). Hill isn't beating out Rocket or Adaway. He's not a need for 24. Planning any further than 12 months is becoming a fool's folly.

If we have resigned ourselves to portal rebuilding every year, might as well close up shop.

Decision day today. Don’t let anybody fool you, this is a recruiting pickup we need to solidify the running back position longer-term. Yes, in today’s college football world, there is no guarantee that a player is going to stick with you long term, but you still have to recruit them. And you still have to sign them.

There will be no way to spin this other than a pretty large recruiting miss if he goes somewhere else. Will it spell disaster and doom for our program? No, of course not. But that doesn’t mean we don’t need him. We do. We do. You can never have enough depth there.
