If it ends up this way, better opportunity for PSU (MD and Rutgers every year). Can't see BIG making OSU play Mich and PSU every year. Would also be surprised that the Land Grant game would be not protected.
I don't think he said it was "tradition" He said "designated rivals". And I think it has as much to do with ensuring Rutgers and Maryland get the opportunity to have their stadiums filled with PSU fans who live in proximity, as anything else. If you assume the Land Grant Trophy Game is a traidition......PSU has skipped over MSU in the past in 2011, 2012 and 2013. But, I don't think PSU has skipped over RU and MD since both joined the conference.I would only protect one rivalry per team - ensuring Penn State plays MD and Rutgers every year for the sake of 'tradition' is garbage.

LOVE going to PSU at MDI would only protect one rivalry per team - ensuring Penn State plays MD and Rutgers every year for the sake of 'tradition' is garbage.
the three team pods are to protect existing rivalries. It doesn’t mean that every three team pod all consider themselves rivals. It doesn’t work if every team isn’t in a three team pod.I would only protect one rivalry per team - ensuring Penn State plays MD and Rutgers every year for the sake of 'tradition' is garbage.
If only we had an assistant athletic director for scheduling.Ha! What little do you know.
Before Warren exited, his last order of business was to issue a resolution that all Penn State football games would be on the road every week for every year into perpetuity.
Speaking of Warren, who is currently running the B1G and how hasn't everything crumbled since he left?Ha! What little do you know.

The BI6 Illumanati are running everything.....Speaking of Warren, who is currently running the B1G and how hasn't everything crumbled since he left?
In that vein, don't know if anyone noticed (I sure didn't) that there have apprently been significant changes in AD staff. Lynn Holleran? Gone! Scott Sidwell? Gone! Appears to be 2-3 others from just eyeballing the list of AADS, but I can't recall specific names. Don't recall reading about any changes. Maybe Pat Kraft is the Silent Assassin. If only we had an assistant athletic director for scheduling.
Addition by Subtraction. LionJim can 'splain it to ya'Speaking of Warren, who is currently running the B1G and how hasn't everything crumbled since he left?
Zune?Have a Pod of Iowa,Illinois, and Indiana, and can call it ?
Waiting for an answer Bob

They spoke of this a while back in The Den.In that vein, don't know if anyone noticed (I sure didn't) that there have apprently been significant changes in AD staff. Lynn Holleran? Gone! No surprise. They spoke of this a while back in The Den.
Want to make sure they maintain our rivalry with Rutgers. I blame Joe.
For USC or UCLA to be added I have a feeling the PSU AD will have to be very proactive. I don’t see the big ten doing it on their own.Forget about Rutgers as a protected rivalry. Would rather it be OSU, MD, and UCLA or SoCal.
Can't wait all day , it would be the I - Pod.Have a Pod of Iowa,Illinois, and Indiana, and can call it ?

No surprise.
No announcement by PSU. Guess Larry the Fish, if he was still working for PSU at the time of their departures, didn't think it would be a good look.
Believe the person who was hired to take Charmelle Green's spot is no longer there, also another AAD who was responsible for community outreach and academic support.
Looks like the Athletic Department is functioning no worse after the excess baggage was jettisoned.
This is considered "Kraftwerk".From the article:
”Five assistant athletic directors — Scott Sidwell (external deputy athletic director), Lynn Holleran (deputy athletic director for administration), Carl Heck (senior associate athletic director for capital projects), Tom McGrath (associate athletic director for business relations), and Michael Cross (assistant athletic director for new business development) — are no longer in the Penn State Athletics staff directory.”
And,
”“Over the last several months, Penn State Athletics’ leadership has reviewed the department’s overall operation, including budget optimization and reorganization of the department’s structure, which has resulted in recent staff changes,” the spokesperson said. “We have no further comment regarding personnel matters.””
I guess Kraft is no Sandy.
We’re screwed.

What is Kraft doing? “Budget optimization”? This is a college administration….who does that? We were told Sandy’s endless hiring spree was just bringing PSU’s AD up to date from prior mismanagement. From the article:

I think you’re way off base here. At the meeting everyone will be clamoring for Rutgers as an annual foe. That’s one automatic step toward bowl eligibility.Forget about Rutgers as a protected rivalry. Would rather it be OSU, MD, and UCLA or SoCal.
