I'd rather just play 11 games than kick off college football on August 25th.

Years ago the regular season and Egg Bowl ended the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.

So it not like they would be creating a ne precedent.

I'd rather just play 11 games than kick off college football on August 25th.

The first year of this change would be 2024. There are 13 Saturdays between August 31 and November 23, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. If they started it the first year of the 12 team playoff, then Thursday, August 29 would start week 1, with most games on Saturday 8/31. Remember 2024 is a leap year. So going forward, 2025 week 1 Saturday would be 8/30, 2026 Week 1 Saturday would be 8/29, 2027 Week 1 Saturday would be 8/28, 2028 Week 1 Saturday would be 8/26(Leap Year again) the 2029 Week 1 would be 8/25. So they is not as bad as it could be.
