One thing to remember about the red zone offense.

They are going against the SEC's #1 red zone defense, for the most part. So, it's not as if they're going against a bunch of chumps.

Also, Dixon 3 carries, 30 yards. I'm not a math major but that's 10 yard/carry.

The most disappoint thing about the scrimmage is Carroll's 7-17 passing. It looks like our wonderful QB coach is starting make his impact on young Carroll. Fortunately, Lee hasn't been under McCorvey's tutelage long enough to totally ruin him....yet.

......to see our defense dominating in pre-season scrimmages than the other way around. The PROBLEM with that, and it's a big problem, is that rarely has our offense looked any better once they hit the field against competition not wearing maroon......errr........white helmets. As usual, I'll defer to the start of the season and determine then whether or not our offense continues to suck ***.</p>

is basically we are going to be relying on Dixon and almost only Dixon to score. That is pretty scary, because if he goes down, we could be really screwed.

with Dixon in, defenses key on him which can possibly leave other option open.

What you have to remember is, that Dixon is a TD hound. He can literally smell the end zone and when he gets close, he is almost unstoppable!

....he has a long way to go to be a great running back. Dixon has all the "potential" to be maybe our best running back ever, but I think we've only seen a small percentage of his capability. And, in his defense, our lousy offensive production through the air has probably cost him a great deal in production. It's a lot harder to make something happen when every team you play knows they have to stop just one guy to shut down the entire MSU offense.

It always seemed like everytime that he would try to go outside that he was tackled for a loss. I think Croom was right in that he needs to stay straight ahead and use his size to wear out the defense. He also had some fumble problems a couple of times last year.

........going to the outside. Leave that up to RE if truly has the speed they say he does. Dixon could potentially pound a defense's gut to the point where we could literally roll yardage on them in the 4th quarter and they won't be able to do anything to stop it.

taking a few of those runs to the outside might not be such a bad thing. But last year, you're right, every time he took a run to the outside he did the defense a favor.
