15-7 for our 4th consecutive loss. Xavier was 2-8 coming in. We've now got #1 Texas coming to town. It feels like the team on the precipice already. We can either totally turn the season around or just get buried in the first month of the season.

I suspect we'll take 1 game from Texas. There always has to be a sliver of hope to keep us on the hook.

Doesn't get a lot easier after this weekend with UT and Vandy on tab for the next 2 weekend series.

The KWI (King Ward Index) has us at .O00 right now. Never been this way this far along in the season before.

Same Ole, Same Ole.... Mark Kingston and Chad Holbrook are in the same boat. We would have been better off with Monte Lee. Bottom Line is Ray Tanner needs an option of giving up the AD job and returning to the HC (Baseball) or slide on back to NC State and see what they have to offer.

Not sure what measure of confidence there is to suggest we will take any game from Texas. This team is not good. Kingston has the personality of a corn chip.

I heard someone mention about Ray going back to the dugout, but that would not go well in my opinion. Ray went out pretty much on top of the game, and, in hindsight, he should have just kept going. We were arguably the top collegiate baseball program and a recruiting juggernaut. But that was a decade ago. I don't see any way he could come even close to replicating the success he had on the diamond. But, being as successful as he was, fans would be expecting trips to Omaha. Anything less would be seen as failure.

Anything less would be an upgrade from what is happening now!

That first option will never be on the table. The second one isn't likely to be.

3rd base position is a liability. We donā€™t currently have anyone that can handle that position and hit for average. 1st base needs to be a player with power hitting. Those are the two positions that need to be solved.

But without quality pitching, weā€™re at a serious disadvantage. Holbrook left us without any left handed pitchers. I seriously donā€™t understand that!

It's been Kingston's program for sufficient time that he owns whatever our team is or has.

If I heard correctly, we 8 pitchers are injured/out for year. No way to compete with that. Now we can see if the freshman can develop for later. I have my doubts on Kingston. He's been here long enough to get his guys. It's very painful to watch this team. Thankfully the Players Championship is playing today through Sunday. I will avoid the Texas massacre. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong šŸ˜.
I hope to be eating crow tonight!

Xavier was a game to just put a little feather in our cap. They stink and we'd just gotten our butts handed to us by our rival and have the #1 team coming to town. It wouldn't have meant much to beat them, but it means a whole lot to lose to them.

I operate on that basis in appraising our schedule every year. The RPI operates on that basis also.

He can't win at Clemson with their resources and in the ACC. No way he would have won here in the SEC. We would be in the same boat Clemson fans are. Quite unhappy with his overall performance.
