I'm going with Georgia (who is going on 4 straight years in that role).

Georgia is formidable in a lot of areas, but they no longer have Bowers, Stedman Bennett, and other difference makers whom they have not truly replaced.

To me, although Kirby has to defend him with no better options on hand, that Beck boy is a detriment. He's not authoritative, doesn't see the field very well, and makes a lot of bad decisions. Now, last night, his receivers did him no favors by dropping four catchable balls, but Beck is not in the tradition of really good Georgia quarterbacks.

I have no issues with Oregon being ranked # 1.
Somewhat of a slow start, but 2 legitimate wins over #17 Boise St, and # Ohio St.

Well, I don't think I can just sit here and categorically state that Oregon is not the best team. What could I base it on? Who around here knows anything about Oregon and who they can or cannot beat.

Probably not, but can't argue with their ranking at the moment.

They play 2 ranked teams this year. OSU and Illinois, who is currently 20th.

That they have climbed to #1 at this stage of the season gives them a strong likelihood of finishing there at the end of the regular season. They have Illinois up next in Eugene then finish with Michigan, Maryland, Wisconsin and Washington. Hard to see them losing any of those games.

I think most are in agreement that they are number one by default. Would be surprised if anyone was undefeated at the end of the regular season.

Have no problem with them being number 1. Don't think they're the best though.

I'm not sure who's gonna beat Oregon. Very soft schedule.
