Everything I’ve seen says Citrus vs Illinois. But so much could change, though not likely. If Bama fell out (they won’t) they would likely go to Citrus and change up everything.

Just read where Citrus will choose between us and Ole Miss. Florida likely headed to Tampa for ReliaQuest. That would put us in the Gator if Citrus chose Ole Miss over us.

I think the Citrus Bowl wants us. 9-3, lots of momentum, beat Clemson. But I’d like to win the Gator Bowl one day too. We’ve played in it often in our history and have never won it! Either way we’ll play in a solid bowl.

I wonder how much the bowls will start asking about opt outs as far as bowl selection. Coach Prime made it clear his players are all participating. If I were a bowl director…I’d want Colorado for that reason. Wonder if we had similar commitments to playing if that would help our destination. Either way, looks like a decent bowl against an opponent we haven’t seen often.

I'd get excited about Shedeur vs Sellers matchup..... (who wouldn't??)

Don't think it would happen but that would be very entertaining + the added pressure on our players to not pass the game up knowing all of CU's players were going to play.....as they should.

I don’t think Colorado is projected to any of the games we are. But could be wrong. My point was more along the lines of bowl directors being attracted to teams with players not opting out.

The Bowl Games should stop all the gifts and cut down on the entertainment and just pay the players a sum to participate.

Yes, I understood your point. But when I saw CU and bowl games being talked about - I just thought about Shedeur vs Sellers matchup.....

I don't know how in the world any bowl organizers wouldn't get extremely excited about that matchup possibility. I was spit ballin'. Hadn't thought of it myself until I read your comment. What a freakin' exciting game that would be.

If we don't get the Citrus, gimme the Gator vs Miami all day long.
I’d want to be full speed on D against Cam Ward. But their defense is atrocious. It would be a close game…as much as I would want it to be a blowout. But would be a good bowl matchup for sure.

If SMU wins, the Gamecocks are likely in Citrus with Ole Miss in Tampa. If Clemson wins ACC, Bama is in Citrus, Ole Miss in Tampa and the Gamecocks in Gator. That is what I have been reading. Seems Citrus does not really want Ole Miss.

I want Citrus mainly because we will already be on Vacation in Orlando that day.

There is no way Shedeur or Travis Hunter play in that game. And that's their entire team. So we'd probably win, but the product would be terrible.

The Citrus has the highest payout, followed by the Reliaquest and Gator. I would prefer the Citrus bowl, but I really want a 10th win against a quality opponent.

Coach Prime made it clear his players are all participating. Daddy is not a quitter.

Winners don't quit on their team. Coach doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who says stuff without meaning.

Never said he was a quitter. But why would you put your son out there in an exhibition game with the OL that's worse than ours on the field?

Because it is a sporting contest between the team his son is on & another team. They happen to keep score for this contest, it's televised, gamblers bet on it, a victor is declared once all time is expired, the win or loss goes on both the school's permanent record as well as the head coaches, & basically not quitting on your team is the correct thing to do.

Tampa wants Florida for obvious reasons. Sounds like it’s Citrus or Gator for us and Ole Miss

I understand you never said that.

It basically boils down to two groups of mindsets : those that believe it's ok to excuse quitting because of (insert rationalization) - Which is the WRONG life message......

And those that believe if you start something - you finish it - no matter what. That is the RIGHT life message.

You play to win the game - not to game the system for an easier life. Quitting is wrong. Period. Coach Prime understands that. I usually despise that guys flamboyance - but his life lessons are solid - and it's his job to coach / teach young people how to do things the right way.

Let’s not forget Deion also has other interests in playing these guys. He’s the coach. Winning Bowl Games are good for the fanbase, recruiting etc. he knows this and he’s setting a pretty good example of even playing his son in the game. If Deion would do that, how could he ever recommend any NFL prospect to keep playing.

Before we say it’s a meaningless game, how long before players do enough to raise their stock and opt out for the 10th, 11th, or 12th game. Most college football games don’t mean much other than $$ and entertainment.

Would LOVE to see the trend of opting out somehow end, but there will have to be some sort of incentive. For Deion, he has incentive as a coach and his boys know that.

But we're talking about the same Deion that gamed the system to get a P5 job? Took an HBCU job and then just jumped ship the second something newer (and ultimately an easier and more money in life?) He also had the two best player on that team quit on their commitment and jump ship with him. And I know it's part of the rules that they can, but it's the same set of rules that allows a player to sit out a bowl game.

I don’t get why people criticize Deion for leaving Jackson State for Colorado. And as if he needed the money? And easier? Way more pressure at a power 5 job than Jackson State where he would’ve easily dominated the conference they played in.

Od Course his son(s) and Travis Hunter, who is like a son to him, we’re going to go. Heck, Shilo left SC to go to Jackson State. It wasn’t for their campus life. I don’t get how this is gaming the system…He did exactly what the AD asked him to do…2 years. He was up front about it. Isn’t this what happens in pretty much every profession??? You work your way up to a better job?

I'm not criticizing him for leaving for that job. I would in a heartbeat. How is he leaving with multiple years left on his contract not finishing what he started though? I'm just going off the original high and mighty response of following through and all that. It's great that he was able to do that.

But the same logic here of you work your way up, Shedeur and Henry have done that. They have nothing to owe and to stay and play a pretty meaningless game. I'm not sticking around at a job just because when I have something literally in the waiting for generational wealth...
