He is 4th on the depth chart at UGA right now...they have the nation's top tight end committed with a top tight end for 2024. There are also other tight ends in the 23-24 class (2) also committed and highly ranked...

We wanted him badly. His mom is a Carolina grad and wanted him in Columbia...I think in the end, he would've had a better career here as being the top tight end...he is just in a pack of tight ends at UGA...time will tell I guess...

Well, that's the other side of the coin when you go to schools like Bama or UGA. The most likely already have several other players at your position who are as good as or better than you.

Wow...just look at UGA's depth chart and the recruits coming in the next 2 years....Wow, and what makes it so bad is that we begged him to come here along with his name being in lights in 5 points...his grandparents live in Columbia, mom graduated from Carolina and wanted him here....

If he does transfer here in 2 years, I hope we're so stocked that he transfers a 3rd time, to Gardner-Webb....decisions for all of us have consequences....

Hard to imagine Delp will see the field unless it's special teams but that's a long shot imo. Playing time must not have been at the top of his list. I doubt no college program in America has more at the te position than UGA.

It's very difficult to overcome the allure of playing for a winner.

Just takes a special player. You go somewhere like UGA now or Bama has been for a while, it's a bunch of interchangeable parts. Just swapping out 5* recruits at every position. Or you come somewhere like USC and be an integral member. Some guys just want to be another cog in the machine.

He did have a Clemson offer...he wasn't lured there...He would've done better at CU than UGA...

That first phrase" it's very difficult to overcome the allure of playing for a winner"....then why is UNC still getting top players in NC...Mack Brown is a snake oil salesman...he has not done much since being back at UNC but some of his recruits chose UNC over Clemson, UGA and Bama....that just blows my mind...

Did/do we really want UGAs 4th best TE? If we are that far behind, we need to fire the entire Athletic dept from Tanner on down. But we knew that before delp

Yes we are behind...we're getting 3 star tight ends...UGA's are all 4-& 5 star tight ends....

UNC doesn't recruit anywhere near the level of Bama or UGA. Not even close.

I agree...but they got Rico Walker out of Hickory who had a Clemson, TX, UGA, & Michigan; Christian Hamilton who also had a Clemson offer along with A&M, UGA, Oregon...

Last recruiting cycle, they got two 5 star recruits, Travis Shaw and Zach Rice...UNC will always be a middle of the road ACC team...

Playing in the SEC, you get more airtime, publicity, etc. At ACC schools, unless you are Clemson, FSU, Miami who get major airtime, you are on the 12:00 Noon Jefferson Pilot Game of the week..

You also can get 12 noon SEC games. See USC VS UGA.

While I appreciate your Gamecock homerism, Brock Bowers is the best TE in college football, and it isn't even close. Bell is certainly solid, and I hope he takes it to another level this year.
For a typical prototype TE, I agree. But Bell is not your typical TE. Bell can block very well, which you expect from a TE, but has WR speed and length with TD capability every time he touches the ball both as a receiver and as a runner.

True. But Bowers has some of those same qualities. He's not the prototype te. He runs the field like a deer. He proved himself by earned frosh of the year in college football. It was well deserved. Both Bell and Bowers kinda exploded.

I contend Bell is still better. I fully expect, batting injuries to either, that Bell will have a better football career between the two - including the NFL. Bell did more last year with much less talent around him.
