Yup. Three days after that album was released. The interwebs of the time (meaning a landline on your parent's kitchen wall) were buzzing with informaiton and innuendo.

The only one left in the band is the guy second from the left, Gary Rossington. All the rest are dead except for the drummer at the time, Artemis Pyle, who had a falling out with the band later on.

I remember it well. I was in Mountainview Hospital recovering from an appendectomy at the time. This was also around when David Paterno suffered his head injury in a trampoline accident.

And then the album cover was quickly changed to not depict the band standing in fire.
