Two big-time losses for them in S Caleb Downs (freshman all-American) and OT Kadyn Proctor (freshman all-American). Proctor started every game. Downs is likely heading to UGA to rejoin Travaris.

Also losing 2nd leading rusher, Roydell Williams and leading receiver Isaiah Bond.

No longer can you take over a team based on the talent it has in place.

The plus side for Deboer, if he wins big next year, it can't be dismissed as winning with Saban's players.

I'm moving this game to a likely win next year based on these findings, and the fact that DeBoer may peepee sitting down.

On the flip side it can be argued that Alabama is taking a step up at the coordinator level. The last 2 defensive and offensive coordinators have only been serviceable and not great if you listen to the Alabama fans.On the offensive side they’ll be better coached and the 2 new DC coordinators can’t be any worse than Pete Golding and Kevin Steele.

That's mighty bold, imo. We're coming off of 5-7. I don't see us being significantly better, and they will still be Alabama. This feels a lot like the 8-10-win talk from a lot of folks last summer.
(To be clear, my :ROFLMAO: reaction above was for the peepee reference, not your take on the game next year. I may disagree, but I wasn't laughing at the take. ✌️)

haha. No worries! I get it. The days of preseason predictions in Jan are over. We won't know anything until after the second portal window opens. My guess is they'll lose more after they go through spring camp. The Michigan job hasn't even opened up yet. There will be a lot more talent looking for a home.

It took Saban's best coaching job of his career to turn it around this past year. To not expect a big drop off in 2024 from Bama would be silly. Obviously my post was tongue in cheek, but that game isn't as much of a likely loss as it was a few weeks ago.

It's not hard to see 3-4 losses on their schedule. UGA, @ UT, LSU, @ OU and Auburn could all be interesting games.

I'm just reveling in all of this. I know there's a specific reason for it, but Bama having to deal with issues that most others in the country do feels so different. I'm here for it!

One thing about Alabama, like Clemson, the powers that be won’t tolerate losing.Whether that means hiring people or breaking rules, they do what it takes to win and deal with the fallout later.
With the current NIL climate I’m not sure what rules can be broken so they may just outspend everybody. They don’t have the resources of Texas or Texas A&M but they seem more willing to dig deeper in their pockets to get the job done
