Not thaaat kinda bean (minds out of gutter),
Coffee bean grinders. Any of you younger crowd use/recommend one? I know the older Maxwell House crowd doesn't. Getting harder to find the coffee I like ground, so looking to get a coffee grinder.

Go ahead and pay for a burr grinder. You can get a reliable one for $40-60. I haven't bought one in years because they last a long time.

Inherited one exactly like this one from my grandmother 30 years ago. Don't use it a whole lot but its fun to use on an occasional morning when I'm not in a hurry. I recently took it apart, cleaned it, tightened up some of the nuts and wooden joints and it works like a champ. Otherwise, I'm not a coffee snob and buy already ground peasant coffee like most everybody else and drink it black.

Burr grinder that is adjustable is the way to go. Avoid anything electric or with plastic parts and it's going to last you forever.

I got this one off amazon ~2 years ago. Baratza Encore

My only complaint is that it can be messy. Some of the grounds kind of stick and build up over time, and then fall when you remove the bin - guess moving it knocks them loose, and a few spill out. My counter ends up with coffee grounds that I have to wipe off every few days. It's also loud but I assume most are? I use it once a day for 30 seconds so I don't consider that a big deal.

We got one of those nutribullet things that people always get for wedding presents and they think you’ll use it for everything. I only use it for coffee beans and peppercorns and I fell like the residue of one only enhances the flavor of other.

You 17ers are fancy. I can't find exactly what I use, but I think this may be the updated version of it:

Not sure if I'm missing out by not having one that's adjustable. It is kind of a pain that I have to grind beans basically every other day. Would be nice if it was scheduled to do it automatically. Also, when we started out, there were times that we'd have super weak coffee I think because of not grinding the beans enough.

So now saying all that out loud, I'm thinking maybe we should invest in a nicer one.

I use a Kitchen-Aid one that works well. I’d like to get a new coffee maker than has a bean reservoir and grinder built in though.

Like others have suggested, get an adjustable burr grinder. We've had one for 5-6 years, and it still works great every morning. Here's a link:

Krups. I have had the same one for 15 years and still going strong.
I have one of these too and like it. I’m not a huge coffee drinker… maybe 1 or 2 cups in the morning and on Saturday mornings. I typically use a k cup. But I do like the way the beans smell once you grind them up, so every now and again I’ll use the grinder.

I drink at least 4 20 oz cups of coffee a day. I'll take a look at all these and start grinding on a bean or two.

Like Chesusdog, we've also been using the Cuisinart grinder for 20 years. One at home, one at the lake.
$60 on Amazon.

Philips 3200. Been using one for several years now and it works great. Minimal maintenance.
