For me, it’s difficult to choose just one. I’m down to A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone.

If I had to to choose only 1 movie that I could ever watch again during the Christmas Season, I’m going A Christmas Story just because I feel it captures so many feelings surrounding Christmas.

So one vote for Ralphie.

And yes, Die Hard fits the criteria of a Christmas movie, but isn’t limited to only a Christmas movie. The entire plot is based on John being in LA for Christmas. The music, the sets…more Christmas-themed than many of the classics. It’s certainly a different kind of Christmas movie, but still a Christmas movie.

Went with It's A Wonderful Life but Elf was a close second.
Also like Surviving Christmas as an oddball favorite.

Not the "best," but 2 rom-com alternatives to the mawkish torture-fest that is "Love Actually" set during the Christmas season that I still like are "While You Were Sleeping" (with early Sandra Bullock) and "Just Friends" (Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart).

Went with It's a Wonderful Life.....because it captures the true spirit of Christmas...a more contemporary take on Dicken's A Christmas Carol. My close second was A Christmas Story because it captures the youthful innocence of Christmas and is simply a fun story. Watch those two every year.

Hard to beat these:
Home Alone
Christmas Story
It's a Wonderful Life

But I would choose to turn off the television.

I clearly remember the first time I saw "It's a Wonderful Life". It was Christmas Eve 1976 and I was living in Weaver, Alabama, and attending Jacksonville State University. I had just completed my first semester of college and my older brother had been deployed to Alaska so he would not be home for Christmas that year. It was kind of a gloomy scene at the house as this was the first of many years to come in which the family would not be together as a whole. This was still during a time when there were like four to six channels available to watch and most stations actually signed off at midnight. We flipped through the available channels to see what was playing and came across this movie as it was beginning to play. Since it had Jimmy Stewart as the lead, we decided to watch this movie (again, for the first time). It was, in my opinion, a great movie in that one could actually relate to all the lives we can touch over our own lifetime., either good or bad. It reminded me of how I choose to interact with others and to try and be kind whenever possible.
I watch that version of A Christmas Carol every year. I watched it last night.
It is one of the first two movies I watch to start off the Christmas season in my home. The other is the same tale with Patrick Stewart.

I voted for It's a wonderful life. It's probably the best but it's not my favorite. I've never laughed harder than I did watching Home Alone for the first time (I still laugh at Marv screaming when the spiders on his face).

Just Friends is one of the funniest “under the radar” movies I’ve ever seen. I feel like it never got a wide spread audience, but the performances in that were hilarious.

I chose Elf. Maybe it’s just fresher than the rest, so I enjoy watching it more today.

Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation are right there in my top three though - I’ve watched both every year for as long as I can remember. But again, Elf is the one I enjoy the most today.

Had to go with the Grinch since my family calls me that. I don’t like spending 3 days after Thanksgiving decorating or spending crazy money on gifts. HaHaHa

I played backyard football with Peter Billingsley (Ralphie) from A Christmas Story in my friend’s yard in 1987. He was my friend’s cousin, and he was already famous at that point. I think he was 16 at the time. Cool guy.

I hate Elf. It’s the dumbest Xmas movie ever made. Honestly, I don’t get the love for that movie—Will Ferrel is annoying af.
