Any recommendations of a service that can be hired to trap and remove mice/rats?

We are unable to use poison or snap traps.

It wouldn’t help with rats but I bought a live mouse trap at Walmart that was very easy to setup. Basically it’s a tube where you put the bait (I used PB) at the back and it uses the weight of the mouse to tilt the tube forward and close the door when it goes in. I successfully removed 2 mice from my laundry room with it.

If you do catch one and you haven’t found and fixed the entry point then you need to drive a few miles away to release. If you let it loose within a certain distance from your home it will just find its way back in.

The trap door lids that go on 5 gallon buckets work pretty well. Use an empty bucket if you want to catch and release. A few inches of water in the bucket if you want a permanent solution and auto antifreeze if you don’t check it very often, they won’t stink in antifreeze. It must embalm them or something.

I had to dispose of some mice in my garage last year that started coming around due to some bird seed we had stored in there. The large glue boards work pretty good, but I would recommend stapling them to a scrap of wood so they cant run off with the trap should they not get all 4 legs stuck.

Sticky boards for the win. Small piece of 2x4 over the stuck critter and a smack of the 2x4 with a hammer after you catch them.

Inspect all straw bales, feed sacks (deer corn, dog food, bird seed, etc) before bringing inside house or shed. I brought a bag of dog food home from Kroger last summer and w/in a week had caught 11 fvckin mice. Found a small hole in the dog food, some of the feed scattered around it and a big damn nest built inside it the day after bringing it inside. My wife no longer insists that I kill king or rat snakes. Happened once before with a bale of straw in the basement, got it home from the co-op and started seeing mice right away. Went to the bale and there was a momma, a bunch of hairless babies and a basement full of the bast-ards. Put my neighbors 2 cats down there for a couple days and end of story.
