Law states that the rear bumper can’t be more than 4 inches lower than the front. Load won’t matter is my understanding. Then comes in the weight restrictions. How much weight you got in the bed will matter.The law isn't worth much if there's no teeth to it. 1st offense - $100, 2nd offense - $200, 3rd offense - $300 and license suspension.
If *I* made the rules, it'd be $250 for 1st, and $1500 for 2nd..... Maybe $2500 for 3rd. If you haven't learned after the 1st time, well.....
That crap (besides being downright stupid-looking) is extremely dangerous. On some of those trucks, there's no way to see anything closer than 3-4 car-lengths in front or more.
Of course, what these kids will do now (and I've already seen it), is they'll put a large box in the bed and claim they have a load. I don't know how the law will handle that.
