Man stopped trying to smuggle explosive device onto Allegiant flight

A 40-year-old Pennsylvania man has been taken into FBI custody after trying to smuggle an explosive device onto an Allegiant flight.

My wife was on a flight coming in from Newark which was turned around and sent back. I was up at the airport watching the the local responders trying Their best to get a handle on the situation. Kids leaving for break were out on the road waiting for Ubers, flashing lights everywhere, nobody able to give a clear answer etc. etc.

In Newark it was for the passengers even worse. First the plane was going to rescheduled to take off in 2 hours, then 3 hours, then 4 hours then cancelled. The flight was going to be rescheduled to late this afternoon. no one car rentals, nobody could get their luggage or again any answers quickly. She eventually teamed up with two other women and took Uber from Newark back to State College. She said the driver did a great job driving through the storm.

I don’t think the LHV incident was an attempted bombing. The mental midget in question was transporting an explosive device (fireworks) to explode on a Florida beach.

Several hundred dollars. She can expense it so that makes the decision easy but for a lot of folks that can’t it eliminates an option.

Security at University Park is way better than SFO. They let my wife board our flight in SFO even though her name on her ticket didn’t match her ID. They caught it at University Park when we tried to fly back. They were gobsmacked that they didn’t catch it at SFO.
