My kids, and the fact that we managed to not f them up. Middle school and high school were hell (mean girls are a real thing, constantly toxic), but they grew up to be happy people. Coach Paterno has been quoted as saying “You are only as happy as your least happy child,” the man knew lots besides football.

Thankful that I remain above ground to celebrate my 54th Thanksgiving (was only a few days old for the first)… and that my family and loved ones are all relatively healthy and not lacking any of life’s essentials at this time. Pretty good.

The 2 sons (now adult) my wife....not only gave me...but raised them right as a stay at home mom. All this while I went out (for 37 years) and jousted with windmills, real and imagined. My 2 month old granddaughter and a PSU grad daughter in law. Oh, and while I choose to continue dabbling in athletics, my pension.
On the downside, my mother passed away on Thanksgiving and of course holidays are difficult after you lose your spouse. For those of you who are busy with life and are blessed to have your bride...take time to appreciate her and don't sweat the little things.

Time to count your blessings. Or, if you prefer, to complain creatively.

It is exasperating to listen to any of the media and cfp regarding psu. But perhaps we should listen if we ever want to get back!! To the next level!!
In the meantime, I don’t listen to current media or big ten network!!

I'm gonna take a leap here and paraphrase something attributed to Jackie Kennedy....perhaps appropriate today.
She said something to the effect that no matter what you may achieve in life, it amounts to very little, if you fail in your most sacred mission....being a parent.
From what I see recently, many didn't get the memo.

My twins. They are home for the weekend, and today is their birthday. So proud of all their accomplishments. Brilliant, and even better people. Love the Paterno quote by LJim.
Always feel sorry for those who viewed Joe as only a football coach. For those who paid attention, he had so much more to give us.
When I played, a coach was a teacher in every sense of the word. My high school coach, Joe Sarra, changed my life. He believed in me, but demanded my best everywhere.....not just on the field. He remained my friend and mentor until his death. I emulated him( and Joe) when I coached. I see so few coaches who do anything outside of x and o today. It's very sad. They're cheating the youngsters.

I am grateful for a family that stood by me when I needed them most.

I am grateful for being alive.

I am grateful to have two children I love and that make me proud to be their father.

All the rest, money, career, home and property, are just things. We can live a good life without things. I found that out.

I am thankful for my family most of all, amongst many, many things. Just finished a 2-hour brunch cookfest of the Blackstone to feed them (save one who is on her way home from South Carolina). Didn’t even sit and eat with them as I was shipping things in to be eaten as they were finished on the griddle but the satisfaction of cooking for them is indescribably pleasing to me. Looking forward to doing it again for dinner tomorrow.

I am thankful for when every time I come home, no matter the mood I'm in, my dog goes absolutely ballistic and without failure makes me smile, laugh and grin ear to ear. I'm thankful for my wife on her insistence of buying him.

Many other things but that popped into my head when I read this topic.

Shalom

Thankful that I have another Thanksgiving to celebrate with family. It has been a rough year to say the least.

Most of all I thankful for my wife of 42 years who takes care of me, drives me to medical treatments, and love me -- God bless her.
Bless you brother.

I’m grateful to the good lord for my health. It’s not great but still good enough to get out and do fun things. My daughter is a blessing and I’m thankful she’s in my life. I couldn’t ask for a kinder, caring and generous GF. Finally, I thank god for my career and being gainfully employed for 29.5 years. I’m scheduled for retirement on 7/1/24. 🤞

Billy my tuner (A2B Motorsports) has a hoodie that reads “you can live in your car but you can’t race your house”

My wife and I have been married for 43 years. In June 2020, I retired a bit early to be her full-time caregiver. She has early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Being a caregiver is challenging at times, but I feel thankful I am in good health-both body and mind- to be able to be able to help her face the challenges of this horrible disease together.

Our two adult children, although both raising their own children with their wives, have been a blessing. When I listen to others in my Alzheimer's support group describe their situations, I realize the sacrifices made by all of them to provide for the person they are caring for the best quality of life possible, despite some very difficult circumstances.
