For several rooms, I would go Sonos, my dentist has a large area with several stations and a vaulted ceiling and he gets excellent sound out of that system, he can crank it up too! For just one room and portable I'm hearing good things about this new Soundcore speaker, it is an Anker Company so the quality is superb. I researched the major brands and bought my daughter one of the older models and it does the job!

You did not provide a price range, or for what purpose you want these for, so it's difficult to make recommendations.
But as the poster mentioned you have Sonos, and there is Bose with all levels of price range. Those are pretty good all around speakers.

I have Sonos in my house - it's really great. You just plug in, connect to the internet, and you can control music all over the house with your phone. You don't need the huge ones either. The One will fill any room with sound. You can also get the Roam - which can work sitting in any room, and you can easily take it with you places.

A lot depends on what you are trying to do and price range. I use youtube music for streaming. So I went with google nest mini throughout the house and at the dock. The sound is fine for most rooms and they can be paired with bluetooth speakers for more sound. You can use your phone or voice for control. You can also use the nest audio for bigger sound needs. I have them connected to stereos at the dock and in the living room. You can set up speaker groups so some or all come on when you ask them to play a certain song or playlist. You can cast from your phone also. They play radio stations that are on iheartradio with no problem so they make a great inexpensive speaker for bedrooms and kitchen with the added benefit of being able to set alarms, timers, and tell you the weather if you need it. The nest displays also do a good job with sound and control. The google home app is used for pairing the nest mini with other speakers if desired as well as setting up groups. I also use it for controlling my home automation. This includes thermostat, sprinkler pump, lights, and security cameras.

Thanks all.
Price sub 200, type all in one single speaker. Yes, like the idea of adding additional spkrs where desired.....

  1. Sound Quality: Manufacturers were constantly improving sound quality to provide a better listening experience. High-quality drivers, improved bass, and clearer audio were some of the key focus areas.
  2. Connectivity: Bluetooth speakers allowed users to connect wirelessly to various devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops, making it easy to stream music and other audio content.
  3. Battery Life: Extended battery life was a significant consideration for users, enabling them to enjoy music without frequent recharging.
  4. Water and Dust Resistance: Many Bluetooth speakers were designed to be water and dust-resistant, making them suitable for outdoor use and in environments with a higher risk of exposure to moisture or debris.

I have Sonos. My only gripe is the price. I’ll never pay that much for a living room sound system again. But the wife wanted it, so… I also have a smaller condo with neighbors so it’s over kill. It pretty much always has to be ran on “night mode”.
My system is like a sound bar, two rear speakers and one of those amp or bass box things.
