A while back, Horshack was soliciting advice on getting a new driver and fairway woods. I think I mentioned then that I was getting interested in PXG as I played with a guy in June who had an 0811X and other than the fact it had the wrong shaft and loft for me, I loved the feel and it was very long compared to my old Ping G25.

Anywho, PXG sells mostly direct and they are cleaning out inventory right now for the new models. Brand new drivers that were $529 not to long ago are now on sale for $199. If you know enough about your game to do a virtual fitting (I did one and it landed me in the exact shaft that I ended up with a couple of weeks ago in a live fitting for a 7w) I would take a strong look. 60 days to play and return it if you don't like it.

The looks aren't for everyone on the 0811, but I kinda like it. The 0211 model is a little more entry level in the performance for the same price if you just want a budget driver and cannot stand the looks. I ordered mine earlier this week at $20 more, but I'll live with it. The shaft alone I am getting would cost over $100. I bought my last new driver in 2013 for $350. I was going to wait until next year and buy one, but the new models from the big boys are all over $500 it seems.

They are running out quickly on options, so if you are in the market, now would be a good time. I have the 0811X in 9 degree with a 45.5" Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 65 S shaft coming next week.
