Just watched it last night with the kids (along with Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Back to School) and I think for all these years the warm California weather distracted me.

I've always considered Die Hard a Xmas flick. Although they were both in Calif. Plus Hans says "Its Christmas Theo, it's the time.."So is Die Hard. It’s on AMC right now.
Yes both definitely are. Die hard happens on Christmas Eve and lethal weapon deals with suicidal tendencies during the “funny season”
Neither are Christmas movies. They are action movies that happen to take place at Christmas.
