Jim Harbaugh makes Colin Kaepernick an honorary captain at Michigan’s spring game

im Harbaugh and Colin Kaepernick had plenty of success together with the 49ers, and now they’re teaming up again.

Harbaugh, now the head coach at Michigan, has named Kaepernick an honorary captain for Michigan’s upcoming Maize and Blue spring game. Harbaugh brought Kaepernick to Michigan’s practice yesterday and had him address the team.

Seems like good news for the rest of the B10, as this is sure to create division within the UM team.

Stupid is what stupid does.

What do the players think? That would be my only concern/question.

I don't even have that concern.

What you should be concerned about is the Michigan Militia showing up for the spring game. In full uniform and packing heat.

I’m sure it would all be a misunderstanding.

Does he get to make a trip to see the Pope?

Or not. We'll have to see where this goes.

But feel free to project your own feelings and emotions to a group of people whom you don't know and have never met. Good on you.
Feel free to project conclusions about what I did not say onto the conversation, as this has nothing to do with what I feel about Kaepernick or his beliefs.

I don't have to know the details of a group of people that large to know that there will be a variety of beliefs and opinions within that group where some of them will feel somewhat uncomfortable with Harbaugh's choice of a pretty controversial person as honorary captain. But those on the team that don't see it the way Harbaugh's sees it will likely not be heard from..... Hard to believe every UM player supports disrespecting the national anthem. Not every player on the UM team grew up in a city, so why would generalizations be the order of the day regarding the 100+ young men on UM or any team.....

If I had to bet, I'd imagine he's not considered controversial by 99% or more of players on the team. I'm pretty sure Harbaugh has the pulse of his team more than you. But hey, you do you.

I agree. Imagine thinking that an old guy who maybe grew up in suburbia or a small town would have any idea what a 20 year old thinks/feels today who maybe grew up in a city.

Maybe there’s a good reason for making him the honorary captain, maybe it has nothing to do with football and everything to do with being a friend. I don’t agree with Colin Kaepernick on just about anything, but who’s it going to hurt if shows up to a scrimmage. Last year, the same Jim Harbaugh gave his bonus to employees in the AD who were given pay cuts, a kind gesture if you ask me.

Actually we will know because there's this thing called the transfer portal now. You can keep track of all the offended players that want to transfer after the Spring game because of CK being honorary captian. I don't give two sh!ts.

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn"...either, Michigan guys will be Michigan guys.

I've always perceived the cliche "Michigan men" as an oxymoron.

I think some may forget who his his head coach was while in SF. Let's be really honest, very few if any will be "offended" by this gesture in the locker-room.

Or worse thug FBI agents using such a situation to launch a false flag operation while they beat their wives during their off hours.

Michigan edge-rusher Jaylen Harrell spoke about the visit from Kaepernick, via Maizenbrew:

“I’m very appreciative of coach Harbaugh actually bringing him in to us and having him talk to us, lay some gems down for us, and just listening to what he has to say. What he brings, his experiences, and how we can apply that to our day-to-day life. It’s a blessing for coach Harbaugh to bring Colin Kaepernick into the building.”

Defensive lineman Kris Jenkins also opened up on Kaepernick’s message to the team.

“He’s a really nice, positive dude, it’s great to have him here,” Jenkins said. “We’re excited to have him as our honorary captain for the spring game, and also excited to have him throw the ball around a little bit at halftime.”

Really? How pathetic. Spare me the lecture about others projecting their feelings on others.

ree agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick will serve as the honorary captain for Michigan’s Maize and Bue spring game Saturday. His former NFL coach, UM coach Jim Harbaugh, is doing whatever he can to help Kaepernick get a chance to play in the league again.

To that end, Kaepernick will participate in a throwing exhibition at halftime of the spring game, Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit Newsreports. The throwing session will be sponsored by a UM student group, Wolverines Agains

Where are the student groups wolverines against cover-ups, wolverines against sexual assault, wolverines against fisting, etc.?
