OT: Just for kicks, two great movie monologues.

BTW, I watched Jackie Brown last night.Awesome ensemble cast. I think you also appreciate that movie. Not one particular monologue in that movie, although Tarantino seems to be obsessed with them.

QT at his most restrained. Also the only script he’s adapted from someone else (Elmore Leonard). There is some talk QT could do a Raylan Givens movie (Justified) which would be tremendous.

A cool companion movie to Jackie Brown is ‘Out of Sight’ starring Clooney and JLo; Michael Keaton reprises his character Ray Nicolette (Out of Sight also based on a book by Leonard).

Tarantino is a true misogynistic sadist, as is clear from the ugly leering expression on his face and corroborated by some of his female leads. He really thinks blood and violence are funny and cannot do a film without it. Jackie Brown is the only movie of his I actually enjoyed.

On the movie monologue theme thought about Apocalypse Now but perhaps they're a bit cliche.
Thought the Thin Red Line had several great, poetic, monologues.

Great film. But, it’s 90% inner monologue about the existential crisis that is war. Malick is the king of that style.

You have to admit that the dude can write. Great monologues and dialogues.

The opening monologue of Inglourious Basterds by Christopher Waltz is top of the pops.

The diner scene in reservoir dogs is the most brilliant scene in a movie where nothing really happens. Just regular conversation as guys get to know each other.

Sorry to semi hijack this into a Tarantino thread…

I understand that people have different tastes, so when I push a movie it means I have zero doubt that just about everyone will enjoy it. Two movies I push: Jackie Brown and Nobody’s Fool.
