The mention of Rocky IV in another thread made me think about watching a good movie tomorrow, to celebrate the US victory over that a-hole King George III specifically, and tyranny in general. My first thoughts are these:

Rocky IV
Independence Day
Patriots Day
Miracle
Red Dawn (the original, obvi)

What are some others y'all like?

Same, I don’t think mine was in the battle of the bulge but he was in the second wave on Utah beach on D-day. I would’ve hated to be a German that came up against him, because that guy was the best wing shooter that I’ve ever seen. He was hell on doves.

The Longest Day
Flags of our Father's
And who can forget that stirring patriotic movie by Trey Parker and Matt Stone: Team America: World Police
Every year when I shoot fireworks I have a playlist that I play. One year we had an adult party so I added America **** Yeah. The next year kids were watching and I forgot about it. I ran faster stopping that song than I did from a quick Artillery Shell fuse. Here is the kid friendly playlist.

I'm going to stick to those about that time period of July 4.

1776 (The original Hamilton)
The Patriot
Washington (2020 History Channel)
The Crossing (Jeff Daniels plays Washington)

I liked John Adams but it took a few too many artistic license facts.
That's a really good list. I also have several movies that I like to watch this week. I will spend the Fourth of July watching Gettysburg, and if I have time, I will watch Midway. I like the newer version of Midway just fine, but I still prefer the old version. During this week, I'll work on some of the following movies if I can

The Longest Day
Inglorious Bastards
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
Kelly's Heroes
Hacksaw Ridge
Saving Private Ryan
Patton

So many great movies to choose from... not enough time to watch them all

I gotta also with those 2. Normandy survivors said SPR did the best movie depiction. I've always eaten up war movies and documentaries. Most folks don't know how bad we 17'd up on D-Day. Shouldn't have taken so many casualties. God Bless those Men.

Great list, but it needs Ray Charles' version of America the Beautiful

Also might add:
Courtesy of the Red White & Blue - Toby Keith
American Girl - Tom Petty
Old Glory - Jerrod Neimann
American Spirit - Thomas Rhett

It Ray’s version. Not sure why it says Stingray Music.
