Of my god that’s horrible news. I’ve always liked the guy and his speeches. It sounds like something sudden, like a stroke or heart attack if I have to guess. :(

I haven’t seen this anywhere. Source? Last I heard from MSU is that family was with him and they were asking for privacy.

Edit: I did see something posted on Twitter but also hearing it’s misinformation. But I’d say based on MSU’s information and reaction from other coaches it isn’t good.

Pro Tip: Googler Search > "Mike Leach taken off life support" spits out a few results....

Edit: Was talking to UGA friend a while back and told them MSU 'could be' dangerous for them simply because you never knew WTH Leach was going to do and that's why I liked him. The UGA fan agreed but in the end UGA was too much that night. Sad day.

This does sound terribly dire for Leach. Even if he should survive,it would appear extremely doubtful he would coach in the near future, perhaps ever.

They come to Columbia next season. Won't be the same, though.

He has passed away.

The sucky thing is that the team has to keep going on, practicing, preparing for a bowl game. Unless they decide to sit it out, but I'd be surprised.

Also sucks that the AD has to start immediately looking for a replacement. No time to mourn. Unless they just do an interim for next season.

Saw a billboard near Petersburg, Virginia today commemorating his life, the man's impact reached further than I thought

I count it a loss not only to his family, friends, and players past and present, but to college football in general, to Mississippi State, and to the SEC. The SEC needed the novel approach to the game and to life that he brought. This breaks my heart.

Agreed. I very much liked Leach. To borrow a movie quote from the original Top Gun movie : Flies by the seat of his pants. Completely unpredictable. / and another although I can't recall the movie : You automatically just sort of have to love a guy like that. (or very similar wording) (Green Mile maybe?)

Agreed. And he also was a "character" in a sport with increasingly few characters. College football certainly became a little less interesting with his departure.
