Looking for the best value on O/Us for the upcoming season. Thoughts on these:

OM - 9.5 (their schedule is crazy easy)- only sure loss in UGA, only other teams with a pulse are LSU and OU (no Texas, Bama, Tenn or Misery).

MSU - 4 - I think we have four, beating Ark or UF will give us 5.

Mich St - 4.5 - are they going to be that bad?

Vandy - 2.5 - they have Ball State, Alcorn and Ga State

Colorado - 5.5 - a fairly tough schedule, plus they seem on the verge of imploding.

I am not expecting big things from State this year, but if we don’t find a way to get to 5 wins, I’m going to have some serious questions about the direction of this program. 4 or less tells me that either

A) our defense is every bit as bad as some had feared
B) our offense did not take a step forward which should frankly be impossible
C) we just lost a bunch of heart breakers and had some tough luck

It’s not an easy schedule, but Lebby has to find 5 wins this year

Yeah, i think 4, which would be a wash, is almost a lock. I can't bring myself to bet on OM, but that's a stupid easy schedule.

Lot of teams with a lot of unknowns.

New coaches, roster turnover... the only really known out of that group is Ole Miss. But your banking on Kiffin finally growing up and keeping the train on the tracks.

I do agree the 4 number on us seems like a wash at best... but again lebby and company being new, plus some locker room issues are rumored-- makes me pause

The best bet may be whether "Prime Time" survives 5.5 games or not

Miami at 9.5 seems really high, the under is tempting.

Also like Penn State over 9.5. They don’t play Michigan or Oregon and only have two preseason Top 25 teams on their schedule.

off the radar pick….Rutgers over 6.5 . They somehow do not play ANY of the four best teams in the Big 10. Won 7 games last year and bring back a lot too.

OM - too close to call. I’ll go over
MSU - same
The other MSU - no idea. Don’t care
Vandy - over. I don’t care how bad they are they’ll win those 3.
CU - under.

Vanderbilt seems like the best value of those options.

They just have to win three of these (2023 record):
  • Virginia Tech (7-6) at home
  • Alcorn State (7-4) at home
  • Georgia State (7-6) on the road
  • Ball State (4-8) at home
  • South Carolina (5-7) at home

The odds I'm getting on the State (-135) and Vandy (-200) overs are poor. They're wanting folks to take the under.
I’ve seen over 4.5 as high at +190. I haven’t seen 4 at a real casino sportbook at -110 anywhere. The only line I’ve seen the Mississippi state over at a juiced price is when it was at 3.5

Drive to any local casino in Ms and you’ll get a better line at 4 than what you have

my numbers are from betonling.ag, an "offshore" Sportsbooks for states were online gamblin' is illegal. I'm getting this info from a friend, I would never participate in illegal activities or private firearm ownership.

Giving up that half game is probably worth the better odds. Four is our floor (hopefully), but I think 5 and possibility 6 is certainly on the table. If the Choctaws would hurry up and get the sportsbook in Louisville open, it'd make my life better.

I'm not buying into supreme talent or corching, that Jr High schedule does have me concerned though. Is Simpleton still in charge of scheduling?
I get it, but we do this every year. Why is everyone so certain they have every team pinned down before the season starts. We have absolutely no idea how Oklahoma, LSU, Kentucky, South Carolina, etc. will be. We get it wrong every year. Our schedule looks tougher on paper (and likely will be) but we continually miss on what most SEC teams will be preseason. The only constant was Saban at Bama and now he’s gone. I think you can also include Kirby Smart at UGA as a 10+ win team, who thankfully OM will have to play.

I just think it’s really 17ing lame our fans are giving OM the benefit of the doubt of winning 10+ games and finishing in the top 12. OM has finished in the top 12 ONE TIME in the last 55 years

LT - continually 17ing up our football schedule since 1987.

Can you imagine what Ole Miss SEC schedule would look like if they had an alumni & former AD making the SEC schedule? My assumption is that it would be their schedule this year with Vandy replacing Georgia & Johnny Vaught would be so proud.
