I mean, incredible. Scroll down to see someone make a comparison with the Rooneys.

Just jump on the Eagles bandwagon. In any other situation, I would classify this as a sports violation. In this case, it is waived due to cruel and unusual punishment at the hands of Dan Snyder.

If jumping on the bandwagon means rooting for the Eagles, excepting the Washington rematch, I’m already there. No point of watching only the crappy NFL teams.

As a long suffering Giants fan, I hope Dan owns the Washington team for another 50 years. His embarrassing mismanagement of that franchise is one of the few bright spots I've had (not counting the two championships in the past 2 decades (which seems a lifetime ago).

I'm hoping that Dan affords the Packer owner(s) the same courtesy when they visit in a few weeks

I have to ask, isnt this SOP for all owners? I know the team bus to and from the airport/train station gets a police escort, it might make sense that the owner does as well. I wonder if JL gets one at ATT Stadium?

So this means what, he's really rich?
It’s possible that it’s SOP for NFL team owners to get police escorts to the airport, but I’ll wait for confirmation on this.

As a DMV resident and lifelong Washington fan, stories of his being a self-aggrandizing, entitled snob are plentiful and eye-rolling. Don’t get me started.

My guess its for security reasons.. After the Auburn game Bendapudi and her traveling entourage were police escorted away from Jordan Hare.

After the Auburn game, we are walking down a street blocked off to traffic.

An occasional official vehicle comes through, parting the pedestrians. At one point, here comes a full motorcade led by 4 police motorcycles with lights and sirens. Doing like 35-40...

In the last vehicle in the motorcade...big black SUV with the windows rolled down....Nessler and Danielson.

If the announcers rate a motorcade, I guess an owner certainly would.

pretty sure its SOP
But it's not just athletes and coaches who enjoy a clear path through the area's often-maddening traffic. According to Illinois State Police records, NFL franchise owners, team sponsors and college donors have also gotten escorts.

The teams, which pay for the service, say it's about convenience, easing travel through a crowded metropolis. The state police, which assigns officers on overtime shifts, says it's about safety, protecting teams from possible "mob action" while they're in transit.

Was reading this article earlier. Interesting point that the owners haven't removed him yet. If he has all the dirt on owners and Goodell that he claims man it's going to be a wild ride. If he had private investigators looking into owners and gathering information on them all this could get interesting. Nothing like billionaires airing their dirty laundry in public.

so this is confusing. if they're on overtime shifts, they're on the clock as opposed to it being an off-duty opportunity. This makes me question how NFL teams are paying for it. Are they "donating" to the state's highway patrol fund? Are they even donating or is the state paying for these "overtime" hours?

And I can see an escort for the team bus to the airport, but for an individual donor or owner or sponsor? State funds paying for that???? that's just bananas

from the National Conference of State Legislatures:

The state highway patrol is funded differently in each state, varying in level of support from the general fund, special funds, federal funds and the state highway fund. In 25 states, highway patrols are funded by statutorily or constitutionally created state highway funds. The central question for lawmakers in those states is how to distribute resources from this fund, which is reserved for the construction, maintenance and safety of the state highway system.

Maybe an LEO could chime in and explain this? i'm legitimately curious how the funding works.

Plus our corporation pays time and a half for overtime. Double time on weekends. Double time and a half on holidays (Columbus Day?)
