I went to the Paul McCartney concert in North Carolina this past weekend. If you get a chance to see one of his concerts, I highly recommend it. Other than the early weather, it was great. The 79 year-old ex-Beatle performed for 2 1/2 hours straight without a break. The old guy has still got it. He performed some of his old Beatle songs and his old Wings songs. Among the latter was the theme song from the Bond movie "Live And Let Die". That last one almost brought the stadium (Wake Forest) down with the loud cheers from the audience and the accompanying fireworks. If he had not already been dead for several years, I would have expected that Bond, Roger Moore, to walk across the stage. John Lennon's voice was isolated with the live McCartney singing together. I thought that was cool. Towards the end, 5 flags were carried across the stage, including the U.S., UK and Ukrainian. McCartney carried the latter.

I recall in late 1963 or early 1964, when a music teacher came in once per week or a month (not sure how often) in the 6th grade. I will never forget her making the prediction that The Beatles would be fleeting, not amounting to much and be gone in short time, never to be heard from again. She was off by only about 6 or 7 years and $2 1/2 BILLION. That makes my bad prediction that Auburn got its football hire right by hiring Bryan Harsin tame in comparison. LOL

I've seen him twice. 2015 at CLA and 2019 in Greenville. Enjoyable and fun.

Each show started at 8:05 and ended at 11:05. He played about 35 songs. If he hadn't played Live or Let Die there would have been a lot of unhappy
fans leaving that night.

Your teacher was like a lot of folks back then. But, she was really wrong by 50+ years.

I`ve seen him several times and he always puts on a great show. Saw him in Greensboro, Columbia, Greenville in 2019 most recently. The guy is unreal. Had to miss him this year but I saw The Who Monday night in D.C. when visiting my son in northern Virginia. They were so good I want to see them again also. Going to see Ringo at the end of June as well! Glad you got to see him you will always remember it!!!

My mom made terrible predictions. She saw a TV in the late 40s and proclaimed it would never amount to anything. To be fair, it was about a 6 inch screen and black and white and lots of static/fog. She saw the Beatles and said they would be forgotten in a few months. Of course all she saw was their terrible haircuts and singing "I wanna hold your hand".

I was there at Wake Forest Stadium and it was packed. I was on row 21 and it was the best concert I have ever seen and I have been blessed to see many great bands. If you have a chance you need to see Paul. We must have had 60,000 people all singing together all night. It was a really happy time and all ages there. Truly amazing concert!
