Does Villanova have the horses to make a run in the NCAA tournament ?

Final 4 quality team?

I think they do, but it will take some luck of the draw and a couple of upsets in other brackets for them.

I think they are a solid Sweet 16 team though.

Depends on the seeds. If they can get to the final round of their league, I see them as a #3, knocked out in the sweet 16.

If their shooters get hot, it might get interesting.

If they played the tourney 100 times, Villanova would likely win it once or twice. They aren't quite at the level of some of the top dogs, but with some of the parity we see this year, they certainly aren't out of it. They slow the game down so they are more susceptible to an early upset...however, it also makes them more likely to pull off a big upset.

They'll put a team on the floor that other higher seeds won't want to face if they make it to the 2nd weekend. Like this team a lot...but they are not 2016 or 2018 caliber. Happy Collin G. was able to get the additional year (post his injury last season). He's a warrior with great court awareness... could see him coaching in the future if he wanted.

Like this Nova team, Jay got just about as much out of them as he could. If Slater and Samuels get hot and make 3s, they become a very tough team to guard. Can put 4-5 guys on the court at once who can make 3s. Opens up the driving lanes when D must extend. On D, they are 1 big guy short. Eric Dixon is one of most improved players in the nation, but no bigs behind him and he is still relatively small for a 5 man. They will struggle defensively vs. big teams. Should make sweet 16, road will get tough after that.

For Philly hoops fans...Delaware knocked off top seeded Towson tonight to advance to the CAA Championship game tomorrow night. Two of Delaware's best players are some familiar names in Philly, Jameer Nelson Jr and Dylan Painter (I swear, it seems like about a decade ago that he choose Villanova over us). Delaware's head coach, Martin Ingelsby, is also a Philly guy (Archbishop Carrol).

Delaware will meeting UNC Wilmington in the Title game...Wilmington also has a familiar face, as their top assistant is former PSU assistant Kurt Kanaskie.
