I once saw a Red-tailed hawk catch a huge white duck a the local cemetery back when I was a kid, but never heard of a cat or anything similar being pounced on by an Eagle.

My wife had a cat when she was young that got picked up by a hawk and dropped. It ran in the house, into a closet and didn't come out for a long time. They had to put a litter box in the closet. The cat eventually came out of the closet, no pun intended. An outdoor cat's life is hard and usually ends badly.

Small pets down here in the low country need to keep their head on a swivel.

Why Thanx for tapping on my champer door with that clarification there Quoth/vacock!! (~£©)

Still, they are primarily referred to as Crows down this way, even here in Charlotte! It's all Good!! Hope All is well on your end, especially so if you're actually in Virginia! A fine state, except for The Virginia Highway Patrol when it comes to us "out-of-stater's", and the DC area!!

I was in Springfield, Fairfax Station, and Falls Church after Red Bank, New Jersey. Grandkids moved to Greenville so we moved after retiring and we’ve been in Pelzer for the last 7 years (grew up in Eau Claire/Columbia). Stay well.

The Ravens that I saw on a trip to Alaska were considerably larger than the Crows here in SC.
