My daughter lives in Millville and I’d like to get an idea of any issues that might be worth keeping an eye on. I saw a local (DMV) report on 2-4 foot storm surge but the live cams aren’t showing anything to be concerned about. Thanks in advance.

It not about the impact of Ian on the LSD, but rather the impact of the LSD on Ian.

(Sorry, could not resist. If I knew what LSD was referring to, I'd be glad to help. Lower Susquhanna/Schuylkill Delta?)

Jim, storm surge is always a problem in Bethany and I expect that downtown will be half under water tomorrow. Despite several more inches of rain coming in the next couple of days, I don’t think areas further inland, such as Millville, to have too many issues. Is your daughter close to the bay?

She used to live in Long Neck, so we know about flooding. I’m more concerned about flooding along the Coastal Highway, since she works in Midway.

Yeah, no concerns about Millville itself getting flooded.

I should add that my daughter is an extremely competent, extremely level-headed person and is undoubtedly on top of the situation. This thread is just me being Overprotective Dad.

Ah, I haven't heard anything about Costal Highway but I know that can be problematic.

Jim there is a coastal flood warning for the beach areas through Tuesday at 9 am with predicted 2-3 ft inundation above ground level. Also a high wind warning until Monday 4 am with 20-30 mph sustained winds, gusts to 60 mph. And a High Surf Advisory through Tuesday 9 am with 7 foot waves.

Been raining moderately all day here in northern DE (and southern too I believe) so some isolated inland flooding might occur but I don't see any other flood advisories posted.
