We live in tumultuous times, right? Whether you're looking at the southern border, the war in Ukraine, the war in Palestine, the gas pump, the grocery bill, the November elections, or any number of issues, no matter which side you're on, we all feel some frustration and division. Certainly, many of want to feel we are making a positive impact on the world, or nation, or even just our neighborhood. We wish we could find ways to unite with each other behind some common cause...ANY common cause. Something that helps us make some sense of the world.

With that, I present to you a FANTASTIC opportunity to play even just small part in doing good in the world and contributing to a cause whose impact will be felt for generations. We CAN be the UNITED States of America again. You can join the cause by donating to send multimillionaire Alyssa Milano's kid to baseball camp.

Don't hesitate. Time is precious.

Little Harsh? After all She is only worth $10 million per the always reliable internet, I honestly figured it would be $20 to $30, and may be, she started working fairly early.

All you need to know about the fortune of Alyssa Milano, As of October 2023, the 51-year-old Alyssa Milano has an estimated net worth of $10 million,

Can you imagine Milano goes to the coach and is like, "I know we've got the trip coming up. Don't worry, I'm going help out." Coach is thinking "awesome! She's going to fund it! What a huge help!". And she drops him a gofundme link. lol

Just because you are wealthy you should fund everyone's trip?

Several of my travel ball players have been asked to play on Greg Olsen's team out of Charlotte. They play all over the country and outside the continental US. Do you think he picks up the tab? The answer is no.

I think it's healthy for kids to play a role in raising money for trips like this (bake sales, car washes, product sales, or even soliciting donations on their own) no matter how rich their parents may be. It's good to learn that you have to put in some work if you want stuff. I'm not particularly a fan of using gofundme or similar for something like this because it's not really a "charity" and it's a purely passive exercise for the kids. But to each their own, I guess.

On a side note, I'm sure, within Milano's circle of friends, they will probably raise enough money to send the kids to Cooperstown in style. Like chartered jet and Four Seasons style.

Agreed. It drives me crazy when coaches takes the go fund me approach. It puts it all on the parents

Raffle tickets, calendar with donations by date have been really successful for our teams and it's the kids putting in the work.

Fyi- the players and coaches stay on-site in Cooperstown. No four seasons for the players. Maybe a chartered jet.

I contemplated taking my team but had little interest in keeping up with 12 kids 24/7 for multiple days. This is definitely an over hyped destination. It's 100% for the parents.

Of course not, and he shouldn't. Neither should she. I was just having fun with the situation. Everyone is looking for a handout nowadays.

Just because you are wealthy you should not ask others to pay to send your son on vacation. I know how travel ball works. I can guarantee you no kid on that team comes from a poor family.

She must have gotten wind of people giving to NI and figured, “well, if people are stupid enough to give to that then….”

This is a team fundraiser. She is trying to raise money for the TEAM, not specifically for her son. Trust me, it's not vacation for the coaches and players. Coached for 10+ years. It's a vacation for the parents.

I have a good bit of money but we always participate or have our kids participate in fundraisers. We could opt out and write a check (some parents do opt out) but that's not setting a good example for our kids and other families imo.

I want to add that it cost a good bit north of $10k to send a team to this tournament. Do you know that she didn't chip in the delta or are you simply speculating to fit your narrative?

You know, I was all ready to blast her because she's so political, yet apparently not that bright (see the knitted COVID masks). But it could very well be she's asking for money for some of the kids' families not as well-off as she.

Very likely. Not a big fan of hers but who am I to judge, particularly when we have very little info.
